The Honorable Franklin D. R. Lyons, Sr., Most Worshipful Grand Master of Virginia appointed Past Master Ronald E. Blakely as District Deputy Grand Master (DDGM) in October 2002.  He served as Assistant District Deputy Grand Master (ADDGM) from 1996 - 2002. MWPGM William F. Milton initially appointed PM Blakely as ADDGM in 1996.

Brother Blakely began his Masonic journey in 1978 at More Light Lodge #468, Columbia, SC, while serving as the Assistant S-1 (Personnel Officer), 1st Basic Training Brigade, Fort Jackson, SC.

1979, he was reassigned to the US Army Materiel Command, Alexandria, Virginia. Brother Blakely was exalted as a Holy Royal Arch Mason in Eureka Chapter #2.  

1981 - Brother Blakely moved to Hampton, Virginia, where he served as the EEO Officer at Fort Monroe, Virginia. 
1983 - Brother Blakely demitted to Blooming Olive Lodge #64, Newport News, Virginia from Morelight #468 (SC). He became acquainted with three Grand Masters while working with Blooming Olive #94; MWPGM Bossie B. Simmons; MWPGM Charles Cortez Crawford and MWPGM A.G. Williams.

1985- Brother Blakely was dubbed a Sir Knight in Mt Calvary Commandery #15 in Newport News (1985). 

1988 - Brother Blakely demitted from Blooming Olive #94, Newport News, Virginia to Acacia Lodge #32, Alexandria, Virginia.

1992 - He served as Worshipful Master of Acacia Lodge #32, 1992, Alexandria, VA.

1993 - Brother Blakely served as Excellent High Priest, Eureka #2, HRAM. He hosted the annual session of King Cyrus Grand Chapter Holy Royal Arch Masons under the stewardship of MEGHP Alphonso Higgs of Portsmouth, Virginia.

1994/1996 - He served as Assistant DDGHP/DDGHP for King Cyrus Grand Chapter, HRAM. Brother Blakely received a special DDGHP award from MEGHP William A. Diamond, Petersburg in 1995-1996.   

1995 - Brother Blakely was elected Eminent Commander of Mt Moriah Commandery #1, Knights Templar. He was won the Eminent Commander of the Year Award 1995-1996.

1996 - MWGM William Milton appointed PM Blakely to the position of Assistant DDGM.

1997 - SP (PM) Blakely was nominated for the 33rd and last degree in Ancient and Accepted Scottish Scottish_Rite of Free Masonry (AASR/FM). He was elevated to Grand Inspector General position as a member of the Elbert Dalton Class.

2001- Brother Blakely served as Illustrious Potentate of Magnus Temple #3, where he hosted the 2001 Tri-State Jubilee Day Program.

1997 - PM Blakely was appointed a Senior Program Manager in the Department of Defense. 
He previously served as a Senior EEO Program Manager in the US Environmental Protection Agency.

1998  - He also graduated from the University of Virginia Contracting and Procurement program.  PM Blakely also holds a BA and MA degrees from Tuskegee and Pepperdine Universities. He retired from the US Air Force Reserves in 1998 as a Lieutenant Colonel. PM Blakely is married and the proud father of a daughter.
