Hello, nasty. Goodbye, tour.

Thanks to a busted-up Beastie Boy, who was hospitalized following a weekend bicycle mishap, the rowdy rap-rock trio's much-anticipated tour with Rage Against the Machine has been derailed.

Mike D separated his shoulder Saturday in New York when he rode his bike into one of the city's infamous potholes on his way home from rehearsal, according to the Beastie Boys' publicist.

The rapper, whose real name is Mike Diamond, damaged his clavicle, as well as several muscles, tendons and ligaments. He still requires some minor surgery to repair his injured shoulder, followed by an extensive two- to three-month rehabilitation, or he risks permanently losing the use of his shoulder.

That means the doctors are fighting for his right to party.

"After many trips to many doctors, it's been decided that Mike will need minor surgery to repair the damaged bits. Mike's going to be okay, but after the third opinion came back that 45 days of touring could cause permanent damage to his shoulder, everyone agreed the tour would have to be postponed," reads a statement on the band's Website.

That means the Beasties' upcoming Rhyme & Reason Tour with Rage has been put on hold indefinitely. The 45-day blitz was set to kick off August 2 in Toronto and wind up September 10 at the Gorge outside Seattle.

Rescheduled dates for the Rhyme & Reason Tour will be announced as soon as Mike's shoulder is healed, the group says.
