TOP TEN FILMS OF 1998
Well, 1998 was a pretty good year for films which produced one true masterpiece (Saving private Ryan), and two very near masterpieces (Prince of Egypt and The Truman Show) followed by a number of excellent films. I just looked at the top ten list, and the weakest of the lot is Wild Things, but this goes on my ratings system. I'm sure There's Something About Mary should be much higher on the list, but my marks stand. One film I'm sure I've left out is Hana Bi, and I haven't got time to fix it up now. Post Script in late January 1999: Perhaps Truman Show should be number two - the more I think about it, the more I think it is a masterpiece as well.
