Captain Super Human Universe Returns had its world premiere on Saturday July 18 in the heart of the Sydney Metropolitan district. Attended by the director and almost every co star, as well as by the proud parents and family, the film received a standing ovation at its conclusion with unprecedented scenes of euphoria with audience members shouting "brilliant" and "encore" (obviously forgetting they were at a movie premiere). Ian Bennie was gracious as usual stating that even though "I wrote and directed it, don't forget I also starred". One person, believed to be from a rival studio tried to introduce acrimony be spreading the rumour that Bennie had said "If I had it my way, I'd do everything all by myself because all of yous are shit". However, not even this rumour could stop the sheer brilliance of the film that has been labelled a "tour de force"; and will now forever be mentioned among the great films of all time within the same breath as Citizen Kane, the Godfather and Schindler's List.

Margaret Pomeranz from the movie show said:

"Oh David, I just Looooved it. ****. "

Other critics are left breathless by its sweeping cinematography. The prestigious magazine "Cinematographer's Monthly" wrote:

"They just don't make films like this anymore. Not since Laurence of Arabia have we seen such stereotyped casting put to use so effectively within a framework of cinematofraphy rich with lush colours, breathtaking wide angle shots and sumptuous back drops. The Azzizzi Lair should forever be etched into Cinematography manuals on how to place cameras between props, and has forever redefined the role of the close up in moments of tension. And the Dowman photography is choreographed so sublimely it is a brilliant metaphor of the shallowness of modern society and its inability for obtaining originality"
