Appearance: Mario Mario is a rotund man of average height, sporting a bushy black moustache, a red long-sleeve shirt with white gloves, blue overalls,
work boots, and a red cap with a red "M" on the front over a white circle.
Luigi Mario, younger by a few minutes, is taller and skinnier than
his sibling, and wears the same style of clothing, except he prefers green to red, and his cap has a green "L."
Personality: The brothers have a vast appetite for pasta, and are skilled in carpentry and plumbing. They have some knowledge of herbology, so they know
which Mushroom Kingdom plants can give them power-ups, and which ones could hurt them.
Luigi is more high-strung and jittery than Mario, but he thinks
carefully before comitting to a plan, while Mario has been known to jump headlong into trouble (as he did when Luigi had to rescue him from the
haunted mansion).
Background: Mario and Luigi were born in the Mushroom Kingdom, and when the stork was en route to deliver them, the Magikoopa Kamek intercepted it; he
had foreseen that a pair of twins would bring ruin to his regent: baby Bowser. He got away with baby Luigi, but Yoshi found baby
Mario, and the Yoshi clan took Mario to find his lost brother (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island).
The reunited brothers were delivered to a family of Italian immigrants in Brooklyn, NY, where they had to deal with the neighborhood
bully, Wario. When they were old enough, the brothers took jobs in demolition (Wrecking Crew), but creating was more interesting to them, and
they became carpenters (Donkey Kong), until they heard the call of the waterworks, and plumbing became their newest career.
After years of successful business, the Public Works committee came
to them with a problem: strange turtle-like animals were coming out of the sewer pipes (Mario Bros.). The brothers delved beneath the streets, and
entered the huge pipeworks, coming out in a strange land of floating brick blocks and ambulatory fungus, the Mushroom Kingdom. The last few survivors
of Bowser's sudden attack begged the outlanders to save them (Super Mario Bros.), and the brothers fought their way through the Mushroom Kingdom to
square off with Bowser, King of the Koopas, and they rescued Princess Peach.
The Mario brothers moved to the Mushroom Kingdom, where they have
lived ever since, fending off the unimaginative yet persistent Bowser and rescuing Princess Peach from his clutches, and engaging in rounds of tennis
and golf during the dull moments. When Smithy, a giant sword, broke the Star Road and took over Bowser's Keep, Mario had to team up with the Koopa King to
stop the new threat and repair the Star Road (Super Mario RPG). Bowser had to deal with a dilemma: if Smithy won, he'd get Peach, but he would lose his
Keep, and if Mario won, he'd reclaim his Keep, but Peach would never be his.
Luigi discovered that he had won a grand prize mansion in a
contest he didn't recall entering, and then Mario disappeared inside. Well aware
of the stories of ghosts inside, Luigi equipped himself with a souped-up vacuum
cleaner to search for his missing brother (Luigi's Mansion).

Yoshis are dinosaur-like warm-blooded reptiles that inhabit a tropical land far away from the Mushroom Kingdom. They live and travel in families for protection from the creatures that would prey in individuals. Other than color, the Yoshis look almost completely identical; Yoshis come in 8 different colors and speak their own whistling language.
Combat
Yoshis are a peaceful race, but they have a tremendous sense of family, and will
attack anyone who threatens those they deem "family."
Special Attacks: Improved Grapple (Ex): Yoshis have
5 foot tongues that they can extend and snatch food, much like a chameleon. By
making a ranged touch attack, a Yoshi can grab a target with the sticky pad on
the tip of its tongue, and then pull it into its mouth.
Special Qualities: Eggs (Ex): A Yoshi can
consume almost anything it can fit in its mouth, digest it, and pop an egg out
the other end as a move-equivalent action.

The Koopa Troop's primary soldiers, the Koopa Troopa is, by all appearances, a larger-than-average turtle with oversized eyes. The elite Koopa Paratroopa squad consists of winged Koopa Troopas. Wild Koopas are usually harmless, but the Koopa Troop trains Koopas for aggression. Some Mushroom Kingdom fighters have used Koopa shells as weapons in battle.
Koopa Shell (Small Exotic Ranged Weapon)
| Cost | Damage | Critical |
Range |
Weight | Type |
| 5 gp | 1d6 | x2 | 20 ft. | 3 lb. | B |
The Koopa shell, when kicked, slides along the ground in a straight line. A hit acts as a trip attempt made by the attacker with a +4 bonus.
