Without dreams, there is no life

During Part 1 of the 4-Part Meeting, each participant expresses his or her dream. D'N'A, Unlimited is there to record that dream in a computer database for the school. The dreams and aspirations of all the children are published throughout the school, so that everyone knows each other's dream. This has the immediate potential benefit of forming connections between children who might otherwise not have connected, but now share a common dream.

Additionally, D'N'A asks the teachers and staff to treat each child as if she or he had attained their dream. For some children, this may be the first time an adult has been supportive of their dreams. Discipline also becomes more effective, as a teacher can ask, for example: "Would it benefit a lawyer to speak in such a manner?" Often, the student stops, thinks, and self-corrects.

Once children have expressed their dreams, D'N'A attempts to connect them with organizations and individuals who can encourage their dreams.

When a child has committed to a dream, he or she is inducted into the Society of Career Dreamers, an after school organization where members work on achieving their dreams, and encourage other members' dreams. A child whose dream is respected and encouraged can begin to hope again and often their negative behavior declines or stops.
