REMMENGA FOR EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENT WHILE PARTICIPATING IN AERIAL FLIGHT 3 MARCH, 1945 ****************************************************** CITATION TO ACCOMPANY THE AWARD OF THE DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS TO GEORGE P. REMMENGA 0780469 First Lieutenant, Army Air Forces, United States Army. For extraordinary achievement while serving as pilot of a B-17 Aircraft on heavy bombardment missions against the enemy. Lieutenant Remmenga, by his determination, flying skill, and courageous devotion to duty, materially contributed to the success of the attacks against Zolts-Erfurt, Germany, 3 March, 1945; against Kiel, Germany, 3 April, 1945; and against Dresden, Germany, 17 April, 1945, despite extremely adverse weather conditions and intense anti-aircraft fire.
