Do you work in a call centre?
Do you speak to nice customers?
Do you speak to idiots?
Well to all the nice customers out there, this is not for you
Speaking as a call taking agent, there is nothing more annoying than the ignorance of some people
Some may see this as a little harsh but in the over three years i've been doing this, it shocks me to hear the same phrases over and over again. I thought i'd analyse such phrases
Why does it take 24 hours? All you've gotta do is flick a switch
Oh is that all i've gotta do. Well thank you customer whos not paid there bill for 4 months for telling me how to do my job. How strange is it that i've been sat in my seat for 3 years and not noticed this big wall of switches with access to over 3,000,000 customers services right here in front of me. I'll just flip the one that I think is for yours to turn your service back on. Oh look, the light just went off
I'm not having a go at you... but
Look, your either having a go at me, or your not.
If you are, then lets explore that, but don't lie to me about it.
If your not, then what the hell are you shouting at me for?

Also, how much further do you think your gonna get if you shout at all. It's a well known fact that human nature means that if your nice to someone, 99% of the time, they'll be nice to you. If you start on the attack, people start to defend, and thats never a good way to start
You can't resolve my problem
How do you know? I have been on many different projects gaining lots of experience along the way. How do you know I can't help you? What you mean, is that no-one has been able to help you so far and your judging me on the others you've spoken to. Would you like that if I said 'Oh your not gonna pay your bill', because all the customers I'd spoken to that day, hadnt paid theres?
I'm not explaining the issue to you, I wanna speak to your manager?
This links into the one above. Show some faith in me. Apart from the fact that its presumptuious to think I can't fix your problem, its very demoralising. If only managers can resolve problems, then why not stick managers on the phones all the time?

YOU RUNG ME?!?!?! If you don't wanna speak to me, hang up. How ironic is it that customers ring in and then don't wanna speak to me?
What annoys me more than anything is, I will do anything I can to help a customer but when I dont get that opportunity, I may as well not be there

Show some faith in us Mr/Mrs Customer. Not all of us are bad eggs
