Swearing - Cussing - Profanity

Let not any filthy word go out of your mouth, but if any is good to building up in respect of need, that it may give grace to the ones hearing.
Ephesians 4:29

Avoid profane, idle talk, for such people will become more and more godless and their teaching will spread like gangrene.
2 Timothy 2:16

Cussing, swearing, profanity, obscenity, and blasphemy are believed to be historically rooted to Nimrod and Aryan nations. Though, I can see Cain and his descendants doing the same.

It's interesting that the Hebrew language has no cusswords or inappropriate language (but modern Yiddish does). However, taking God's name in vain is considered to be a cussword by Jews and Christians.

The 3rd of the ten commandments:

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exodus 20:7

Taking God's name in vain includes using his name along with cusswords or simply saying, "God" or "Jesus" instead of a cussword.

Also, stating that God approves of sinful actions, sinful deeds, or sinful lifestyles is also a form of profanity or cussing.
