Reformed - Originally meant any Protestant Christian group but has come to mean any spiritual descendants of Ulrich Zwingli and John Calvin. Examples are Presbyterians, Landmark Baptists, and Particular Baptists. Arminianism - Men have free will to accept the gift of salvation from God or reject it. Christ died for all giving all people an opportunity to be born again. People can backslide thus forfitting their security unless they repent. This is the opposite of Calvinism. Wesleyan Holiness - A person can become sinlessly perfect in this life. Pelagian - The belief that all people did not inherit sin from Adam, people are born sinless, Adam would have died even if he had not sinned, people will not rise from the dead one day, Old Testament saints could live without ever sinning, and following the Old Testament gets you to Heaven the same way accepting Jesus does. Calvinist - A person who believes in 5 points called the TULIP which states that no one can do anything good unless God forces it, God preselected who will go to Heaven and Hell, Christ only died for those who God preselected to go to Heaven, God makes accepting Christ irresistable to you if He wants you to go to Heaven, and those who God preselected to go to Heaven can never be lost to Hell. TULIP is a shortened version of the Canons of Dort. Believers Baptism - Only one who confesses Jesus as lord should be baptized by immersion. This is the opposite of infant baptism. Pre-Millennialism - The belief that the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ, mentioned in revelation 20, is a literal 1000 years, and it has not yet happened. This differs from Amillennialism or post-Millennialism. Pre-Tribulationalism - The belief that the rapture will take place before the seven year tribulation begins. This differs from Mid-Tribulationism and Post-Tribulationism. Dispensationalism - The teaching that God's dealing with man is different at different dispensations of time. This is the opposite of covenant theology. Non-Sacramentalism - The ordinances of baptism and communion are memorial, they have no power or grace giving ability. Annihilationism - The belief that the unsaved will be destroyed when cast into the lake of fire. This is the opposite of the traditional view that they suffer throughout all of eternity. Traditional Pentecostal - The belief that the gifts of the Holy spirit and 5 offices of ministry continue until the second coming of Christ. This includes the true gift of tongues (languages) and the validity of a "prayer language." KJV only - The KJV is the only inspired version and all others (NIV NASB ect.) are satanic perverted versions. Tablet Theory of Genesis Authorship - The belief that Moses had access to stone tablets on which the book of Genesis was written by God 1:1-2:4a, Adam 2:4b-5:1a, Noah 5:1b-6:9a, Shem Ham and Japheth 6:9b-10:1a, 10:1b-11:10a, Terah 11:10b-27a, Isaac 11:27b-25:19a, Ishmael through Isaac 25:12-18, Jacob 25:19b-37:2a, Esau through Jacob 36:1-43, and Jacob's 12 sons 37:2b-Exodus 1:6. Moses simply transferred the information to papyrus thus accounting for changes in style. Creationist - God created all things. There is no such thing as macro-evolution. 5 Point Fundamentalism - Prior to the successful redefinition in the 1980'S, fundamentalism meant that someone believes that the Bible is completely from God from Genesis to Revelation, Christ was fully God and fully man, Christ died for all people rather than just a few, Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead, and Christ will one day return to establish a 1000 year kingdom on earth. Paleo-Orthodox - Ancient Christian beliefs as recorded in the Bible and writings of the early church fathers.. Conservative - Those who would rather preserve rather than alter, make unChristian, or revise. Liberalism - A revisionist movement that began 200 years after Martin Luther's Protestant Reformation which disbelieves much of the accuracy of the Bible preferring allegories and naturalistic explanations. Democratic Republican - The first political party in America of which both Republicans and Democrats claim descent.
