Dispensationalism The History and Future of Man Dispensationalism is a majority teaching in Christianity. Few Christian groups reject it. The Dispensation doctrine is not straight from the Bible. The dispensational teaching is basically a map of Biblical history and future. It is meant to be a map of all the major events of mans time upon the earth. The Seven Dispensations 1. The Dispensation of Innocence describes Creation to the fall of man. 2. The Dispensation of Conscience is from the fall of man until after the Great Flood and the promise God made that He would never flood the earth again. 3. The Dispensation of Human Government is from after the promise to after the Tower of Babel scattering and the separation of continents. 4. The Dispensation of Promise is from the call of Abram to Moses and the Exodus. 5. The Dispensation of Law goes from after the Exodus to Christ. 6. The Dispensation of Grace goes from Christ to the Battle of Armageddon. 7. The Dispensation of Divine Government goes from after the Battle of Armageddon, throughout the time of Christ ruling in Jerusalem on earth, and will go until the 1000 year reign is complete. After the 1000 year reign, there will be a Great White Throne Judgement and Eternity following wherein wicked are tormented forever and the righteous have a new Heaven and new Earth to enjoy in the presence of God. Forever and Ever. Amen. Dispensational writers: Pierre Poiret (1646-1719) John Edwards (1637-1716) Isaac Watts (1674-1748) John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) C.I. But. I think you get the idea. Dispensationlists believe that the promises that God made to Israel in the Old Testament will still be fulfilled in the National Israel. Non-dispensationalists believe that Israel abrogated her right to the promises by disobedience and all promises will be fulfilled in Spiritual Israel (Christianity). Non-dispensationalists, Amillenials, and Preterists have given place to such movements as: Augustinianism, Lutheranism, Calvinism, British Israelism, Branhamisn (William Branham), Covenant Theology, Word of Faith Movement, Klu Klux Klan, Serpent Seed, and Nazism. Non-dispensationalism tends to be anti-semitic. -- Jeremy Brown 2003 |
