truth means not a lie, honesty, fact, reality

"Amen" means 'so be it' and TRUTH

TRUTH, noun
1. Conformity to fact or reality; exact accordance with that which is, or has been, or shall be. The truth of history constitutes its whole value. We rely on the truth of the scriptural prophecies.
My mouth shall speak truth.  Proverbs 8.
Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth.  John 17

2. True state of facts or things. The duty of a court of justice is to discover the truth. Witnesses are sworn to declare the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.
3. Conformity of words to thoughts, which is called moral truth.
4. Veracity; purity from falsehood; practice of speaking truth; habitual disposition to speak truth; as when we say, a man is a man of truth.

He who breathes truth shows forth righteousness, but a false witness deceit.
Proverbs 12:17
The lips of truth shall be established forever, but only while I wink is a lying tongue.
Proverbs 12:19
5. Correct opinion.
6. Fidelity; constancy. The thoughts of past pleasure and truth.

Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away. Truth has fallen in the street, and honesty can't come in. Truth is missing. Those who turn away from evil make themselves victims. The LORD sees it, and he's angry because there's no justice.
Isaiah 59:14-15
7. Honesty; virtue.
8. Exactness; conformity to rule.

Plows, to go true, depend much on the truth of the iron work. - Author Unknown

9. Real fact of just principle; real state of things. There are innumerable truths with which we are not acquainted.
10. Sincerity.
God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.  John 4
11. The truth of God, is his veracity and faithfulness.  Psalm 71
                                             Or his revealed will.
I have walked in thy truth.  Psalm 26
12. Jesus Christ is called the truth.  John 14
13. It is sometimes used by way of concession.

She said, truth, Lord; yet the dogs eat of the crums-  Matthew 15

That is, it is a truth; what you have said, I admit to be true.
In truth, in reality; in fact.
Of a truth, in reality; certainly.

To do truth, is to practice what God commands. John 3

The doctrine of Christ is called "the truth of the gospel" (Galatians 2:5), "the truth" (2 Timothy 3:7; 4:4).

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.  John 14:6

Is a lie considered to be light or dark?
Is a lie hidden or revealed?

Notice how deceitful activity is done in secret and how truth shines bright as the sun, for all to see.

There is something about ABSOLUTE TRUTH.

Jesus said:
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.  John 8:32
Jesus answered them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever practices sin is the slave of sin.  John 8:34
And the slave does not abide in the house forever, but the Son abides forever.
John 8:35
Therefore if the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.  John 8:36

As we can plainly see, Jesus is the TRUTH who makes men free.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.  Psalm 119:105

Jesus is the light!
Not just 'a light' but the TRUE LIGHT.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  1 John 1:7

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.  John 8:12

I have come as a Light into the world, so that whoever believes on Me should not remain in darkness.  John 12:46

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  John 1:1-14

Truth means LIGHT and KNOWLEDGE.
LIGHT is TRUTH.
Ignorance means abscense of light and darkness.
JESUS IS THE LIGHT!
Satan is the Prince of Ignorance!

Whom the Son sets free is free indeed!

Jeremy Brown 2002
