New Age Religions Explained

The New Age Religion is a bi-product of Eastern Religions.
See Zainism,
Sikhism, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

New Age Beliefs:
1) The majority of New Agers believe that all religious worship points to the same source.
Christian response:
Jesus said, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, no one comes to the Father, but by me."  St.  John 14:5

2) They believe that God is in everything and that man is a God.
Christian response:
So God created man in His own image, in the image of God created he him; male and fenale created He them.  Genesis 1:27

3) They believe that a spiritual matter called karma exists that is negative and positive.
They believe that if an individual does something bad then they attract negative karma to their soul and if someone does good then they attract positive karma to their soul.
Christian response:
This can possibly deceive some because similar to Bible scripture...
A) Judge not or you will be judged.  Matthew 7:1
B) Even as I have seen, that they plow iniquity and sow wickedness, reap the same.
Job 4:8
C) The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.  Proverbs 11:18
D) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.  Galatians 6:7
E) For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.  Galatians 6:8

4) New Agers believe in reincarnation.  Reincarnation is believed to be a cycle of rebirth in which if someone dies with more bad karma than good then hey are reborn a lower life form and if someone dies with more good karma than bad then they will become a higher life form or will be permitted to Heaven-like state.
Christian response:
And as it is appointed unto men once to die but after this the judgement.  Hebrew 9:27

5) New Age followers also look to gurus (New Age Leaders) for guidance and support.
Christian response:
A) But the annointing which you have received of Him abideth in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same annointing teaching you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, ye shall abide in him.  1 John 2:27
B) Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall he also speak: and He will show you things to come.  John 16:13

6) Some New Agers believe that the 'End of Time' is approaching and that there will be a leader that will rise up and will solve the problems of the world.
Christian response:
There will be an individual who will arise called the Anti-Christ.
Read The Book of Revelation.

End Times.

How to share the Gospel with New Age Followers:

#1 -  Keep it simple.
Stay focused on basic truths such as: 1- Jesus is Lord, 2- There is only one God, 3- Jesus is God's only Son, 4- Man was made in God's image, 5- Man in not a god, 6- Jesus sits with God in Heaven, 7- Sin divided God and man, 8- Jesus bridged the sin gap between God and man, etc.

#2-  When witnessing, try to avoid words, phrases, and scriptures that sound similar to their teachings.  That could confuse them and reinforce their acceptance of false New Age teachings.

#3 -  Reject all New Age teachings and writings as inaccurate.

#4 -  Inform friends and family of the harm caused by New Age literature.

#5 -  Refuse to accept, refuse to subscribe to, and refuse to bring New Age material into your home.

#6 -  Don't allow yourself to be witnessed to by the New Age followers.  They may want to share their beliefs with you.  Guard your heart.  Ask for God's protection as you encounter New Age teaching and followers.

#7 -  Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your words and actions.  God won;t lead you wrong.

#8 -  Don't be an island!  Don't go ministering or witnessing by yourself.  It isn't wise.  It is wise to witness and minister alongside good strong Christian Believers.  Adam had Eve.  Moses had Aaron.  David had Jonathan.  Elijah and Elisha.  Enoch and Elijah.  Paul and Silas.  Jesus and his 12 disciples.  Just to name a few.
