We have done a lot of publicity work with our Australian Cattle Dogs over the years.  Nakita and Spike have been used in television ads and in brochures.  Our dogs have been shown on local television shows.  Our ACDs are used to mingle with the public to show them what the cattle dogs are really like.

In Australia we have Pet Expos where clubs are allocated  stands.  Each year our dogs go in, with many other cattle dogs from the ACD&K club of Qld Inc, to stand around and be handled all day by the crowds.

Our dogs have done many live stage performances, the latest, again with members from the ACD&K Club of Qld Inc, on centre stage in our Brisbane City Mall and live from South Bank (Brisbane City).  The dogs do displays on stage, ranging from basic obedience to 'trick dogs'.

We have successfully competed in obedience and agility.  We have rather unsuccessfully competed in tracking, as my dogs are not really interested in finding a stranger and alternatively get too anxious when I disappear into scrubland, to want a slow handler on their end of their tracking line.  Being typical cattle dogs, they do not work their best with anyone but their owner on the end of a lead.  Oh well you cannot win them all!

I have tried lure racing (with artificial lures) and the art of shutzen.  The dogs excelled at both these sports.

Our cattle dogs have been part of many publicity displays at the Royal Shows in Brisbane in the past.  Nakita often did displays of advanced obedience solo as she never missed a beat and is a total crowd pleaser.  She often has wooed crowds with her antics, more than her prowess in agility, as a typical cattle dog has a wonderful sense of humour, of which I am usually the brunt....

Love them or hate them, they are proudly Australian Cattle Dogs.
