This is the first of my web logs.  I'd like to tell you all not to buy big bags of frozen chicken nuggets.  It may seem like a really great deal, but you're really compromising your tastebuds.  Chicken nuggets should at least be as good as those you get at McDonald's.  But the Shop'n'Save/Hannaford brand sucks.  Take my word for it.
Weblogs Galore!

Ok, so I need to apologize to Hannaford for my mistaken diss of the nuggets.  If you put them in the oven they come out MUCH better!  I'm way excited for 2 reasons.  My cashier # at the Gap is 29 (my fave #), and I get to see Chicken and Liz (and maybe Dawson and Becca) at the end of this week!  I have nothing more to say right now other than long distance totally SUCKS.  Sorry I'm not in for the deep thoughts by Stafiej right now.

Today was one of those good days that don't come along all too often (of course it helped that I drank about 5 Mt Dews in a row to get that energy up).  The day sped by and work didn't even seem bad.  See what a call from your best friend in the world can do for you?  Friends who know you are so valuable.  I got to spend some time with my buds tonight and I was so happy.  Oh I can't forget how psyched I am that I saw a preview for a new Highlander movie!  Christopher Lambert is in it so I hope he doesn't make it suck, but Duncan and Methos should make everything all good, yo!  September 1st baby!  Ooooh don't forget X-Men is coming out on the 14th of this month (that's Friday!).  This week is going to rock cuz I get to see Liz and Chicken!  Oh happy day!

I'm back from my 3 day vacay and had a blast, but I need another vacation just to recover from this one!  I took my first ride on the T into Boston.  Even though we were late for every train we took, it made the trip even more fun.  I didn't get to see Becca or Dawson or Ashfee.  I hope that they had great weekends.  The timing stunk for us.  I hope that one day I can get down to visit Becca if she'll have me :P We all know what the Conn peeps think of Maine, so instead of holding my breath for a visit up here, I'm gonna crash down there and see if she'll put up with me.  Now let's just see if I can get the day off!
There was so much to see in Boston.  Colin, Patty, Liz, and I went to a wonderful Italian restaurant and then just wandered around taking it all in.  Did any one hear about the marathon in Boston at 11:45pm?  Well, we entered, but need to shave down our time by 3 minutes.  Best line from the trip "I apologize for the whole male race, ladies."

It's time for rejoicing!!!  I have gotten in contact with my bro (that is so dope!!)  He's living well and seemed happy as a June bug in a throw rug.  I have another lovely story to tell you all!  While working diligently at the glorious GAP (I was on register with the guy whom I thought was cute, but now know he is gay... what can I say?  I dig their style?), this guy came up to me and was totally hitting on me, while I was helping him with clothes.  He and his friend bought their things and then went all the way out of the store.  Then all of a sudden he comes back and starts babbling to me about the tall ships that are in Portland Harbor this weekend.  He hands me the card that you see above :) and told me about the party they are having to honor the people of Maine bla bla bla :)  So I'm going to go check out this party tonight... and see if I can see Dave, Missy's Coastie... yea that's why I'm going! hehehe wish me luck! ;)
08/08/00
Sorry for the delay in the weblogs.  The Libertad thing was pretty much a bust, although I did get to meet a really nice Coastie.  It turns out that Ian was on the Eagle.... and that just made everything so complicated.  It's good that I didn't get on the Libertad, though, even if I gave 4 of the sailors a ride from Freeport to Portland.  Despite my good deeds, I didn't get a good party.  But the party got busted for having underage girls drinking onboard.  So Jess and I bummed around the Old Port with the Coastie John.  Oh I did get to say hi to Dave :)  They were all going to their homes the next day, so I couldn't see any of them again till school.  But anyways, this week is going to be really busy.  Missy is coming to see me in 2 days, Brian is coming up for some lunch this afternoon, and John is coming home on the 12th!!  I can't wait!!!  As much as I am so glad that they are all coming, I know that they will get me out of my house and away from my parents lol, jk  I'm psyched.

Brian and I took a lovely drive up to Camden and had some awesome Cappy's clam chowder while being attacked by partially deflated balloons, and sticking to the seats from the heat.  On Thursday Missy came flying in to Portland.  We baked a cake for her birthday (btw, happy belated belated birthday to Becca and Liz too!!), babysat a booger, and went mini golfing!  Her foot is feeling better all the time.  And John is home.  Absence made my heart grow fungus, er I mean fonder!  The end of this month is going to come so quickly and I will have to go back to school.  I knew it would happen, cuz time with your best friend just flies by...  I was so ready to go back to school before John got home, but now I want the summer to last about a month longer!  Plus, I'd love to make some more money so I can get a desk chair, a CD holder, shoes with flames on the toes, a new keyboard and a mouse.  That desk chair will be mine... oh yes it will be mine.

'Twas the first day of classes and all through the air, hung this humid little cloud making everyone frown.  It's about time to go to the infirmary from heat stroke!  Intro to psychotherapy was interesting this morning.  It seems like the professor will make the class really interesting.  He says, "if I'm not having fun, then you're not having fun, then I'm not having fun... and I'll have to change something."  He also says, "If you're doing drugs, lock away the guns."  Quality.  I'm mostly all moved in, I just need to get some posters up on the walls... and sort out extension cords, but other than that... I'm settled!!!

Just to update y'all on the forum, it didn't seem to accomplish much, although we did get the hours for the AC back.  About a week after the forum happened, I found out that about $150 of our health services fee goes to insurance.  It covers all but our dental care, and it will continue throughout the summer.  So if we have any problems while we are at home, this covers us.  I think that the administration will be emailing the student body about it, but why couldn't they tell us about this at the forum?  It's all a bit too mysterious for me.  On a more personal note, all clubs and activities are underway.  I finally feel like I'm getting something out of crew.  Being PR for the Film Society isn't half as bad as last year.  BCM is wonderfully enriching, and when I ever get to it, homework and classes are just as fulfilling.  Can you tell that it's a productive day from how positive I'm being? :)

There's been a huge life-altering and life-shattering development in this Dewlover's life.  The propoganda surrounding me is almost overwhelming.  Some have said Mt Dew is the "gateway drink" to other "hard caffeine" drinks.  Others say that having 3 Mt Dews is like having an addiction to alcohol.  I will not stand for this sort of brainwashing!!!  Mt Dew is good and healthy and nourishing.  Bah humbug to all of you who don't approve!  It's midterm week and it's hectic here at Conn.  Other than that, life is good, and there's a source of happiness coming my way from somewhere down the street... thanks :)
oh ps leave me more messages!!

It's a new year, and new classes and new events are a happenin!  Over Christmas break I was lucky enough to go to both Texas and Florida!  I just had to pay for all that fun by staying at Conn for spring break for crew.  Now it's race season.  I put up a link to our spring racing schedule.  Take a peek at it.  I'm pretty sure that I will be going to Ireland for fall semester next year!  I'm so excited!!!

It's been forever since I have written and tons of things have occurred since my last weblog.  I've been in Ireland for just about 3 months now.  I'm returning to New Jersey on the 23rd to visit my grandparents.  Then I'll be going to Maine from the 24th to the 29th.  On the 29th I'll be heading down to El Paso to visit with John and his family for New Years.  Then I'll come back and settle down for a little while in Maine until it's time to head back to CT for school.  That's the future, but as for what's happened since I've been here, I've been able to visit so many wonderful places!  I've been to Scotland (Edinburgh & Inverness), London, the Aran islands (Inis Moor), Belfast, Limerick, Blarney (of course I kissed the stone!), and Cobh (the last port of the Titanic).  I've been blessed by being able to go abroad.  There have been so many experiences I have had that I never would have encountered had I not been able to come here.  As it is 2 days before Thanksgiving, I'd like to say thank you to my parents for giving me this wonderful opportunity.

I really don't want to do work, and thus I am procastinating to the utmost by playing around on the internet in a computer lab.  Everyone else appears to be working diligently, but alas, I am playing games and catching cute boys on the internet.  I guess my contact with the male population has gone done recently and I have turned to infatuations with imaginary characters in cartoons or fantasy television.  I have created a new link to the site for the pocket bishonen.  If you want to know what that means, and why i'm crazy about it, then check it out.  Go there anyways, cuz it's just fun.  You can also check out the bishonen I have caught
here.

Well it's almost December.  Does everyone have their advent calendars?  My mom sent me one from the US so I'm definitely ready to start opening those windows.  I've added a
Christmas wishlist to the page and also the adoption section is new as well.  I am having second thoughts about the bishonen section.  The purpose, well there wasn't really a purpose, but the point of the Bishonen thing was just a little joke and craic (that's fun in Ireland).  But apparently it has gotten me a not so great image.  So if you have any thoughts on it please post that on my board.  Thanks!

oh! I also added a picture of
Andie and Mike (her Irish boy friend), another picture from a formal last spring, and a picture of Missy and I on her first trip to Maine

It's the last day of November.  I have 22 more days until I head home to the states.  I'll be leaving at 5 in the morning on the 23rd just so I can get back on my plane.  I'm not sure how it's going to be on that plane with people I have known for 4 months, and then may never see again.  I will miss them.  I've added a few items to my wishlist (Christmas is coming! yay!!) including a list of the
DVDs and the CDs that I want.  If nothing else other than to get people to buy me more presents, I'm also just procrastinating a lot.  I think I worked a total of 4 hours on this thing yesterday.  But I really cleared up the clutter and made the format a bit easier to follow.  I decided to have an interesting site of the day.  The winner of that honor on this wonderful last day in November is the Final Fantasy Online page.  It's got a great feature today about the top ten Final Fantasy characters. For all of my nerdy friends, I think you will enjoy it.  Oh wait, I think I have only one friend who would like this, Craig!  hehe.  Anyways, I'd like to thank all of the people, pets, and inananimate objects that left me posts on my board yesterday.  I miss them all very much and can't wait to get back and celebrate Christmas with them.  Everybody ready for December?
03/12/01
Finally! It's December.  Only 22 more days left till Christmas.  And only 20 days until I come home.  I was ever so surprised today to get 2 packages, a card, a postcard, and a
dozen roses delivered to me today.  After a really rough weekend, I am much happier, and I now have Christmas music to listen to!  John Denver and the Muppets is the best Christmas album in the world.  The best Christmas song would have to be awarded to the 12 Drunken Days of Christmas, though.  If anyone can find an .mp3 of that, PLEASE let me know!  I've updated the wish list and CD page.  I also found a great site of the day.  Get ready to do your maths, cuz it's the love calculator!!
05/12/01
It's hard to believe that it's December here.  The weather is slightly chilly, but I haven't seen any nose hair freezing action going on.  There's nary a hint of snow either.  Apparently it doesn't snow a tick.  I'm so used to at least a foot of snow around Christmas time.  I'm hoping to be bombarded with it when I get home, although I'm sure I will complain about it's negative effects, most likely on impinging my driving.  But hey, no worries, I haven't driven in 4 months anyways, what's a few more months?  By the time I drive again, I should probably take the test over.  You can never be too cautious, yeah?  I'm working diligently now on my Sociology of Death, Dying, and Bereavement.  And the fun never ends.  I am reading
The Revival of Death, Constructing Death, On Bereavement, The Geography of the Heart, Becoming a Man, and numberous articles for this beloved paper of mine.  While dealing with these texts on death, I am reminded of my favorite movie, City of Angels.  I know it's not exactly a prize winning piece, but it's so romantic.  And I definitely fall in the romantic category.  So show someone you care by sending a City of Angels postcard.  Also, check out the great Mt. Dew site I found @ Mountain Dew Anonymous... oh I miss that glorious wonderful grand spectacular sensational lovely awesome tasty lipsmacking goodness!
(Don't forget to check out the great ode to Mt. Dew on the
testimonials page!)

I have 16 days left here in Ireland.  It's the weirdest feeling to know that I am leaving.  I think I was just getting used to the place.  I've got the stress of this Death and Dying paper to contend with as well.  It's definitely adding some much UNneeded stress to my life.  I read another pathography last night called
Facing Cancer: A young carer's story of survival in between talking to my mom on my mobile and throwing the book across the room.  I heard on the radio the other day while I was crocheting (yes crocheting, this is what have i been reduced to without my playstation) that mobile phones actually increase people's skills in social interaction and serves a natural inborn need to gossip.  While I do agree with the first claim, where does the second idea come from?  Certainly we are creatures that like to talk about each other, but is this an inborn feature?  This study specifically named gossip as something people need to do.  I would definitely challenge that statement.  There are certainly some people in the world who don't gossip or talk about others.  I see the mobile as only an enabler to a bad habit of gossip.  This is in no way saying that I don't like mobiles, I just don't like being told that I'm hard wired for gossip.
10/12/01
So finally, all of the reading for my death and dying paper is done, and I have written most of the paper.  It's supposed to be between 4000 and 5000 words, and I already have 4000!!  I still have another pathography to integrate into the text and write a conclusion.  This is one paper I don't haev to worry about having enough materials.  I saw Zoolander on a little study break last night.  So, if you really have absolutely nothing better to do with your time and feeling like blowing a bit of cash, then by all means go see it.  It's good for a few laughs just because Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson are so stupid.  It's like Dumb and Dumber, but without an interesting story and good actors.  But hey, I needed the laugh last night.  Site of the day:
Lady Jaye's bio, man she's a tough gal. My hero! She even studied in Ireland!!! hehe
