Chapter Two
The longer Nick talked to Marielle, the more he liked her. Her hypnotizing eyes, made him forgot all his fears and told her his story like raging water, words after words. He memorized her sweet features. They were flawless. He'd never seen anyone more perfect. And her brain, her wits, they made him laugh. "Do you have a hitch who wants to kill your girlfriends so badly?" Marielle asked.
"Course not."
"Anyone who hates you?"
"Nope. I'm well-loved, as you know," Nick answered still looking at his plate.
"Talking about 'ego'," Marielle muttered under her breath.
"Hey, I'm offended. But I can tell you, I never hurt anyone in my life."
"Unintentionally?" Marielle required.
Suddenly, glass shattered. Everyone turned their heads. Bullets fired at them.
"Heads down!
