A Change of Opinion

Prologue
"Come on, Brian! You can do it!" Brian's friend cheered him. He looked over at Leia- the most beautiful, most popular girl at school. She was with her squad- the pop squad, the squad which only 'cool' people could enter.
He had been wishing to go out with her since the day he met her. But it seemed possible, he wasn't a football jock or anything like that. But recently, he had won a singing competition, the school was going to announce it in next assembly, it wasn't so bad, right? Brian rubbed his hands, took a deep breath, and walked over to Leia and her bunch, hoping for the best.
"Uh, hi!" he said nervously, hoping to get Leia's attention. Leia turned around. Her eyes scanned Brian from head to toe once. She greeted him with cold politeness,
"Hi. What do you want?"
"Um, I wonder if you would like to go out with me tomorrow evening. There is this new restaurant..." Brian stammered. Be before he could even finish, Leia's friends exploded into a bomb of laughter. His face turned red. Leia's mouth turned into a smile of mockery.
"Ha! no, thank you. I have something better to do." Brian felt as if he had been slapped in the face. Hope for the best, and prepare for the worse.
Just then, Larry, the school football star walked over, Leia and her friends rushed over. Brian was left there, feeling like an idiot.
