Underneath the Moonlight
Quiet sparkles
Of fire flies
Twisting, turning
Underneath the moonlight.
Shadows sway
Like lurching men
Crickets chirping
Throughout the glen
Beneath the gaze
Of the twinkling stars
He watches her longingly
From afar.
And what, just then,
To his surprise
She turns and smiles
With twinkling eyes.
Oh heavens! She knows
And yet she persists
To blatantly stare
With her upturned lips.
He approaches her then
Emanating masculinity
And kneels in her presence
To ask for their unity;
In body and in mind;
In heart and in soul;
Passed the time in which
The sun would turn cold.
Then the tears come and pass
As she whispers her comply.
Now it's the sky's turn
To utter a sigh.
As one holds the other
With the lover's touch
The world around them
Celebrates with just as much
Enthusiasm as it pours
From left and right.
This is quite a spectacle,
And yes, quite a night.
