Kiss of Loneliness
There I stood alone on top of the world
The wind so strong, it carried me; yes carried me
Eyelids clenched, the smell of pine in the air
Surrounding me, swirling high,
High up to the heavens, cloudy and mysterious.
Hair whipping from side to side
Like a black cloud of silk it spread
Soothing me, hurting me.
A shiver running down my spine
In fear? No, in anticipation.
Nothing embraced its wide arms around me
Cradling me like a child
A cry rose and fell in my throat
A tear ready to fall.
There among the wild brush I stood
Feeling lonely and cold for another hundredth of my life.
