29th September 2007 CK Andover U13 1 Barton Stacey U13 5 Important work north of the border so its over to Mrs de Cani for this one. CK Andover in yellow, Barton Stacey in green, ref in black with white trim. Half time already and I don’t think I missed any goals. I know I saw two and Mrs Taplin thinks she saw another two. Mrs Coetzee dropped by to watch and she thought three, It must be between two and four. According to Mr Hadlington we are 4 –0 up, he will know because he has an official flag that he uses to wave flies away from the pitch. Danny Tuson scored the first for Barton Stacey, William de Cani the second, Sam Hadlington the third with a left foot collie, although I thought it was his foot he used and I am sure Mr Bearpark’s dog was not on the pitch; I wouldn’t know if our dogs were left footed or right footed. Michael Taplin got the fourth from a long way away, so far away that I couldn’t see it. William said at half time that he needs new shin pads, his cricket pads are in the car I don’t know why he can’t use those. I’m sure his helmet would come in useful for heading the ball, and the genetic line wouldn’t be in so much danger if he wore that “box thing” when standing in a wall. Connor Jones is new and he just scored a goal, but it didn’t count; the ref obviously thinks we have enough already. CK Andover score one in the second part of the game, which means Barton are allowed to score again, this time its Nick Bearpark’s turn. Poor Charles Sherwood has his arm in a sling, he hurt his hand playing Rugby. I must say, the Rugby world cup has been absolutely fascinating, the new fabrics that they use to make the shirts and shorts are soooo clingy!, Mrs Coetzee likes the look of the cricketers while Mrs Taplin likes the football/Beckham look. Mr Taplin gallantly pushed the case for the Darts player but I don’t see it myself. The game has ended, the score 5-1 to Barton Stacey - I think Barton Stacey third place in Division 1
