13th November 2007 Rep football- Martin Turner Cup 1st leg Testway Youth League U13 2 Peter Houseman Youth League U13 0The Testway Youth League U13 representative side took on The Peter Houseman Youth League side in this first leg of the Martin Turner Cup. The Testway League side comprised of boys from Upper Clatford, Alderbury, Andover New Street and Barton Stacey, Barton’s Sam Hadlington captaining the side from central midfield, William de Cani playing left midfield. The Peter Houseman side consisting chiefly of boys from Andover FC, Down Grange, Oakley, Winklebury and Sherbourne. Played out in the pouring rain under floodlights at Charlton, Peter Houseman had the better of the first half, Clatford’s talented defenders Brad Aldridge, Jack Dunning and Sam Woodward alert to the numerous attacks. All square at half time Testway played the better football in the second half Clatford’s prolific striker James Mcarthur opening the scoring from close range. A William de Cani charge down the left hand side creating Testway’s second for Alderbury’s free running Finn Drury. A tight game and a good win for the Testway Youth League in which both Barton boys featured prominently. Thanks to the boys and parents who came along after Barton Stacey U13 training to cheer on the Testway side.
