All the actors were so nice to us and we felt like we were a part of a big family. Thank you all for that. 3. What songs from your new album "The Big Room" did you perform on the show? "Everything", "Don't" and "Miss popular". 4. What was your favorite moment from your experience on the show? It would be my first time acting together with Joshua Jackson 5. How popular is "Dawson's Creek" in Norway? It's one of the biggest shows together with Friends and Ally McBeal and Sex in the City. 6. What is your favorite Dawson's Creek episode, and who is your favorite character? I love the "Joey" character. My friends say she sometimes remind them of me. Probably the temper..hehe 7. Are you currently doing a U.S. tour? This summer we will on tour opening up for Jewel in the U.S 8. In the episode, Marion thinks Pacey is cute, but Marit's not impressed. Tell us the truth... what did you guys really think of Joshua Jackson? I thought he was very nice and charming. 9. Where were you when you found out you were going to be on the show? How did you feel? I don't rememeber where I was, but it felt great! I was so happy. It was very unreal. I didn't believe it before I was standing there on the set. Marit's answers: ================= 1. Are you "Dawson's Creek" fan? I've been watching the show when I've have the chance since it started. Therefore it was a little bit more special to actually get to be in it. Only catch is Norway and the U.S. are one season apart! Confusing! :) 2. Did you enjoy filming Dawson's Creek? It was a really fun day- so laid back and easy, I only have good memories. The audience seemed to be into our music and I think they were (for real) having a good time too... ! Everybody were very nice to us and the atmosphere was great. 3. What songs from your new album "The Big Room" did you perform on the show? "Everything", "Miss Popular", and "Don't". Our songs have lyrics that are very honest and real, and I think it really suits the show. 4. What was your favorite moment from your experience on the show? Realizing how nice and down to earth all the cast and crew members were. We were at once adopted into their "family" and we felt so welcome. :) 5. How popular is "Dawson's Creek" in Norway? It's very popular, and everyone was very excited to find out we were going to be on the show. 6. What is your favorite Dawson's Creek episode, and who is your favorite character? The best episode was the one when they were all leaving for college and Dawson ended the relationship with Joey. It was heartbreaking! I think my favorite character is Jen. 7. Are you currently doing a U.S. tour? Right now we are in the middle of a promo tour through Europe, but we will be touring the United States this summer (June/July), opening up for Jewel. It's going to be wonderful to get on the road with our band and get to play some shows! 8. In the episode, Marion thinks Pacey is cute, but Marit's not impressed.Tell us the truth... what did you guys really think of Joshua Jackson? He was a really nice person, and I think he's very talented. 9. Where were you when you found out you were going to be on the show? How did you feel? We were at home in Norway, and I was very happy to get this opportunity to reach out to even more people with our music. I am very excited to see the outcome. :) ==================== |
| Its the morning of Seventeen Philippines first-ever cover shoot. We have two hours to set up, style, and interview dynamic Norwegian duo M2M. Their sked is airtight: Right after the photo session, theyre due for a shoe fitting with Skechers, a Channel V interview and a concert at SM Megamall.
Since Marion Raven, 16 and Marit Larsen, 17, first came to Manila last April, M2M has become an international household name thanks to Last Song Syndrome-inducing tunes and oh-so-cute videos. After their whirlwind Southeast Asian tour, theyre off to New York to work on their second album. Not that any of this has gone to their heads. Says Warner Musics Leda Mendoza, who takes charge of the Norwegian teens while theyre here: They giggle a lot, love lollipops, and do as theyre told. They are not difficult at all. When Marion and Marit arrive at the shoot at 10:00 A.M. (right on time), they give off a vibe thats very much like their music: infectious, sweet, fun and undeniably pop. Best friends for the past 12 years, the duo is famous in their native Norway. Their first band was named Hubba Hubba (after their fave bubblegum), after which theyve performed in theater musicals, cut an album of childrens songs and appeared on local TV. Shades of Purple, their debut album, is their ticket to global stardom. Marion is straightforward and wont hesitate to tell you what she wants or doesnt want (for the shoot, she wanted her dark hair warn loose and free). Marit, on the other hand, is very sweet and good-natured. Both girls are easy to talk to and dead serious about being musicians. Its very important to be serious about the music and not make a song just because its whats popular, says Marion. The duo write (and play the instruments on) most of their songs. Who inspires them? Oh, guys at home and guys we meet, Marion smiles, plus what happens to us or what wed like to happen. Stuff like heartbreak help. Marit admits shes been heartbroken. When? In kindergarden! she laughs. You will always have a crush on a guy who doesnt like you or youll be together in fourth grade and hell dump you. Given the slew of girl bands, its easy to see how people can be incredulous around such young talent. But theyre musically more mature than most girls their age. Instead of N Sync and 98 degrees, their fave boy band is The Beatles. Weve been Beatles fans since we were 13, Marion explains. What about talk that theyre crushing on Hanson? I dont have crush on them but I think their music is good, says Marion, and when their music is good it makes them cute, if you know what I mean. Marit agrees: I always fall for love of music, because Im a music lover myself. Despite being so obviously a team (We never fight about anything. We just discuss, Marit says), they have different tastesin guys, clothes and music. Marit likes more outgoing guys while I like shy guys, Marion says. Marit continues, I love it when guys arent too rushed with pouring their personality all over. And they shouldnt care too much on how they look. In the middle of the interview, their manager comes in with a tape of the music video of Everything You Do, M2Ms latest cut from the album. Oh my God! the duo scream. Can we take a break to watch the new video? Weve never seen it Marion asks. They huddle in front of the TV, and watch intently. When it starts, they jump up and down clapping. Theyre so thrilled, they watch it twice. It was made in Canada two weeks ago, Marion explains, smiling. We even had a sting section! M2M are going to be on the road for nine weeks, which is the longest time theyll be away from home. But Marions dad and Marits mom watch over the two while on tour, and their teachers help them with schoolwork at night and during lunch break. Sure, the girls get homesick. Still, they wouldnt trade being in M2M for anything. Says Marion, As long as people want to hear our music, were happy. It doesnt matter if its ten people or a million. The best part about being in M2M? Its doing what I love to do, which is singing, and getting to do it with my best friend, she adds. Awww. After thirty minutes, Marit and Marion are all set. Smile! says our photographer. The two laugh and ham it up with their cones of dirty ice cream, dancing around each other as all their craziness is caught on film. Smile, hug, look at the camera, we call out. But the girls are having too much fun to pay any attention to us. Finally someone asks in a loud voice: Britney or Christina? The duo stop in their tracks. Marit makes a face and yells No! After which, Marion yells M2M! |
