| Larsen Delivered Marit Larsen gave the audience a nice and intimate concert in Verdensteateret yesterday evening. The former M2M-artist is on her first Norwegian tour where she plays songs from her debut album Under the Surface released in March. First stop on the tour was Lillestrm, and yesterday it was Verdensteaterets turn. Candlelights With her six piece band in place on stage, she uttered a tiny Welcome to you all to the seventy members of the audience and kicked into the opening song. After a start where she seemed to be holding back a little, she loosened up and eventually she was all smiles and the dialogue with the audience was good. Marit Larsen played all the songs from her album, and played both piano and guitar. Before each song the audience were given a short story about how and why that particular song came to be, the whole atmosphere was intimate and cosy with space and candle lights at the tables. Fans With the number of people present yesterdayeveryone could have a seat. The crowd was a little quiet in the beginning, but apparently they started to enjoy it more as the concert progressed. About halfway through the show, you could hear them starting to stomp their feet. Two fans, Helene Beck and Susanne Brressen, had different reasons to be at the show yesterday. Helene had hoped for some covers by Joni Mitchell, while Susanne is a huge Marit-fan: "It was Susanne that brought me here. I have read that Larsen is inspired by Joni Mitchell, and I likeher a lot". |
