| Marit Larsen Alone Stavanger: At Thursday Marit Larsen played her own songs at By: Larm in Stavanger For the very first time, all by herself, since the M2M- break up. This went really great, says Marit Larsen (21) just after the concert is over. Thats what happens when youre singing about something you really stand for. Cross road Its been three years since m2m were sent home from the Jewel tour. The record company had lost the interest for the duo from Lrenskog, and short after the end of M2M was a fact. But while Marion very much stayed in the public eye, Marit disappeared in silence. She kept all her plans a secret. It was a cross road for me. I started listening to my feelings, looking for the answer if I should quit doing music. But I got a bad feeling. I just had to take the chance to continue, said Marit Larsen to Dagbladet earlier this year. Own Material And now she is here at the festival and attending meetings with people who are in the music business in Stavanger. Shes here with her own material and band. It feels great being able to test my material in front of a demanding and picky audience, she says. And singing my own songs, that I wrote, means a lot to me. If people like the songs I write, then I can really call it a success. If they dont like my songs, well, then I have to go home and work more with my material. Darker Her hair is darker since the time with M2M, so is her music. But she really wants people to see her as a cheerful person. But a sad message rapped into a positive melody, more often gets to the heart. And when we asked her how she thought it was to be back on stage, without Marion, she hesitates. That is nice, she says, hesitating. Are you still friends? -Yes, we are -And when can we finally listen to you on a record this spring? Hehe, it is okay to try? She replies secretive Then she head out for the bar to buy herself a glass of red wine. |
