What have the City of Devonport Brass been playing at...?

Devonport Jazz Festival
23 + 25 JULY, DECC + 'Jazz Junction'

The City of Devonport Brass contributed to another successful Devonport Jazz Festival as we played I Will Follow Him and Standin' In The Need Of A Prayer at Thursday night's Gospel Song Concert (at the Entertainment Centre), and received great applause at Saturday's 'Big Band' playout which included our more up-beat tunes Parliament Street Blues and crowd favourite Mambo No. 5.

Many thanks to Andrew Polden for adding his trombone to help fill out our small 'Big Band' sound.

ANZAC Day March
25 APRIL

We were very greatful for the break in the weather for this year's ANZAC Day march, with the City of Devonport Brass band playing Australian old-time favourites Waltzing Matilda, Colonel Bogey, and 1914. Many thanks to Guy Carey (Drum Major), Julia Haywood (bass drum) and Andrew Kaye (side drum) for their marching assistance, and to Peter Georgiades for his Last Post recitals. A very special commendation to Emily Pickett for her dawn service recital of the Last Post, the youngest in Devonport ANZAC Day history to do so!
