Successful
Rotator Cuff Surgery
I would like to say a big thank you to the
flotilla for the beautiful flowers they sent me for my surgery and hospital
stay. It was a surprise when they
arrived and it put a big smile on my face.
(Which hasn’t seen too many smiles lately)
Thanks for thinking of me.

Vessel
Examination
Ken MacRae
I
had a unique phone call a couple of weeks ago.
A man called me from the Alabama Coastal Fishermen Association and asked
if we gave talks on safe boating. I
assured him that we would be glad to talk to his group. He then asked if we would check their boats
for safety equipment! After I recovered
my voice I said we sure would. We
arranged that I would attend their next club meeting March 7,2002 and explain
our Safe Boating Program and that we would have several Vessel Examiners
available at the weigh in on March 23, 2002 when any member who wished to have
a safety check of their boat could do so. Final details will have to be worked
out but it will be a good opportunity for our new examiners to get their feet
wet. More later on this.
I
hope when you are in our booth at the Boat Show that you will tell the crowd
just when and where they can get their boat checked. Information will be there on time and location.
If
you haven't got your own vessel inspected please call me and we will arrange to
do it as soon as possible. Time is
running short.
Flotilla
39 Web Page
Mark DeVoe
What do you want on Flotilla 39’s web
page? I found out that I volunteered to
publish this flotilla’s web page this year.
Please send me any ideas on what you would like to see on our web
page. I will definitely move the
Driftwords archive to the new page, but other than that it’s wide open (except
for some restrictions the Auxiliary places on me).
If you have any pictures that show us in
action, please forward them to me.
Also, if you have any tentative dates for activities/presentations, please
forward them to me.
