Legion of Darkness (run by Jake)

My Character:

Sal-Van Koh - Human Jedi Knight - player: Steve

Sal-Van Koh may appear to be the typical Jedi on the outside, but his road to knighthood was not the smoothest in the order.

As a young apprentice (about 10 years before SW: The Phantom Menace), he and another padawan named Bail Nobeila would often be caught causing some slight amount of mischief around the temple. As he grew older he was finally taken as a full padawan by an Ithorian Jedi Master named Kevlan. He and his master traveled the Republic in service to the Jedi Council. During this time Sal-Van was training hard but there always seemed to be something that would get in the way of his judgment and he would end up making a slight fool of himself in the eyes of others (his master would often chuckle and say that Sal-Van was proof that the Force had a sense of humor).

One day they were called to help with a search mission. Sal-Van was saddened to discover that his childhood friend Bail and his master had disappeared. They searched and eventually found their downed spacecraft on a remote planet near the Quermia system. They did not find any remains to take back for burial.

A few years later, Sal-Van and another apprentice named Zen Keh Lur were given one of their first assignments without their masters. They were to help oversee a meeting between several Hutt clans on Tatooine (at the request of the Hutts no less). They ended up saving them from an assassination plot contrived by one of the Hutts and the Trade Federation (who had been hired to provide security with some of their Droid Soldiers. During this adventure, Sal-Van was approached by a dark figure who called itself Legion. Sal-Van tried to touch Legion using the Force and felt a cold darkness wash over him, but he also felt something familiar. Legion taunted Sal-Van and told him that he would one day fall to the Dark Side. When Sal-Van attempted to face him, Legion vanished.

A few weeks later Sal-Van and his master were sent on a mission to Malastare to track down and return a smuggler to Coruscant. While on Malastare, Sal-Van and his master were attacked by Legion. Kevlan told Sal-Van to take the smuggler and run to the ship as he ignited his lightsaber and faced off with Legion, who also wielded a lightsaber. As Sal-Van and the smuggler ran, Sal-Van felt a sudden chill in the Force and knew that his master was dead. Sal-Van leapt from the speeder that they had taken and rushed back to face his master's killer. As he entered the area he saw Legion standing over the robes of his former master. As he approached, Legion removed his hood and revealed himself as Bail Nobeila. Around his neck he wore a strange ornate amulet. Sal-Van recognized a few of the symbols well enough to know that it was a Sith Talisman. Legion began to taunt Sal-Van again trying to seduce him to the Dark Side. Sal-Van grabbed up his master's lightsaber and igniting both blades attacked Legion. They fought furiously but Legion was the stronger combatant and Sal-Van was overwhelmed and knocked unconscious. When he awoke, Legion was gone and Sal-Van had discovered that over a week had passed. He made his way to the starport and found a shuttle that was going back to Coruscant.

Sal-Van told his tale to the Jedi Council once he got back. They were not quite sure what to do with him just yet, so he spent time in the Archives researching the Amulet that Legion was wearing to try and discover it's origins. He was able to find some information about it and found that it was connected to another Sith artifact that appeared to have been lost on Tatooine just before the last great war against the Sith. He also found that an archaeological dig on the planet had turned up some interesting but definitely non-native items. He approached the Council with this new information and asked to sent to Tatooine. The Council agreed and said that if Sal-Van returned with the Sith Artifact then he would be ready to take on the mantle of Jedi Knight. Sal-Van traveled to Tatooine and was joined by Zen Keh Lur once again. They traveled out to the site and after talking with the people there journeyed into the dig site. When they entered, Sal-Van felt a strange pull and followed it to the artifact. When he touched it to pick it up he had a surprising vision. In the vision he was hanging suspended in a tube with Legion's face reflected on the glass. Legion smiled and turned to face a figure standing behind him. The figure stepped into the light and it was Sal-Van. Then the vision stopped. Sal-Van was trying to make sense of what he had just seen when he felt a familiar disturbance in the Force. Legion had arrived.

When they tried to leave the site with the artifact, Legion attacked them using a group of Tusken Raiders that he had brought under his control. Sal-Van gave the artifact to Zen and told him to get it back to the Council and then turned and rushed their attackers. He killed or drove off several of them when, finally, Legion entered the fray. He toyed with Sal-Van at first much as he had done on Malastare, but finally disarmed Sal-Van. He moved in to strike what Sal-Van thought would be the killing blow, but he stopped. Legion laughed at Sal-Van saying that whether Sal-Van realized it or not, he belonged to Legion and that he was not done with him yet. With that Legion left Sal-Van laying on the ground. The others returned soon after and Sal-Van journeyed back to Coruscant and presented the artifact to the Council, who then proclaimed him a Knight.

Years later, Sal-Van would participate in the Clone Wars as a Jedi Fighter Pilot. During this time he would come across Legion again. He chased Legion back to Metallos where he confronted him in an abandoned science facility. Here he made a shocking discovery. He came across a cryo-tube (just like the one in his vision years before) and found within a being who looked exactly like he did. As he studied it closer he saw that the person in the cryo-tube was missing their left arm. Legion appeared and explained that the person in the tube was the real Sal-Van Koh and that he was just a clone that Legion had created to do his bidding when the time was right, and that now was that time. Legion used a hidden suggestion that had been implanted into the clone's mind to make it do his bidding. Soon after, Zen and a group of others came to face Legion and try to free Sal-Van. The clone was forced to fight his former friends and almost killed one of them. At the last minute, the clone was able to override Legion's command and attacked the Sith Lord as he tried to make his way to the top of a large factory building. As they fought, the Sal-Van clone was badly injured and knew that unless he could stop Legion, his friends would perish. He gathered his strength into one last charge and took himself and Legion over the side of the building. Both of them perished......or so everyone thinks.
