Dave McPherson: Since school finished in July we rehearse 5 days a week at this little rehearsal room in Essex. It's just a small room with heating and a PA and it's in the middle of a scrap yard. We don't know many of the people around the scrap yard as we don't quite understand all the rules and laws of the place - they all stick to themselves - but there is a good cafe that does a nice burger. It's just excellent finally having the time to work on the band full-time.
BIGBAER.com: Some bands just get together to play without any further expectations or demands. There is nothing wrong with that, but, listening to your music it is apparent you want more. Where do you want your music to take you?
Dave McPherson: Where do we want our music to take us? Somewhere that's not here. We just want as many people as possible to hear our band; it's what we're best at. Still, you can only hope people will like what you're doing. It would be a dream if they did cause we'd like to play in front of loads of people.
BIGBAER.com: What kind of routine do you follow when creating your music, what are the dynamics?
Dave McPherson: We don't really have any specific routine when it comes to writing. I can have an idea, or Joe can have an idea and then we just start piecing it together. We get a structure going and Simon will introduce some of his rhythms - basically it's a free for all.
Once the basic idea is complete, we start working on it in more detail, looking at the full picture. We keep going until we feel we've done our best and we're all happy. We get ideas and inspiration anywhere, but for me it is usually when I am home, sat in my bedroom.
Simple things can make a difference, like turning the lights on or off, depending on the mood of the lyrics. From start to finish a song can take one night, one week, one month...there isn't a usual amount of time with us as it really depends on the song.
