| The Dwarves were made by the Vala Aure. They love mining and live in large halls in mountains (though one does have to wonder why a dwarf would need somewhere so big!!) The picture to the left is Moria - one of the great well known dwarf mines. The other big Dwarf place is Belegost though not much is known of it anymore. Dwarves are great metal workers and have made many special swords and jewels for various elves until they fell out over the silmaril in Doriath and now, though the moria dwarves ahd no part in it, Elves and Dwarves do not get on! |

| There are five wizards in total - Gandalf, Saruman and Radagast are the most well known. Not much is known about them - except that they came across the sea - so there's not much I can tell you! Their story is covered in more detail in Unfinished Tales... |
| Orcs |

| Ugly little blighters aren't they? Orcs are thoroughly evil - made very early on by big evil villain of the times: Melkor (Morgoth). He took the wandering elves when they were first around and tortured them until they became orcs. Then in the third age Saurman (above) created the Uruk-hai - a super orc basically. Whereas normal orcs hate sunlight these ones didn't and were very strong...however Saruman never managed to cure the orcs of their hereditary idiocy hence, strong or not, they could easily be defeated by a smart and cunning army. |
