When Devilzsoup Went To New York!!
Once upon a time there was a small girl called Devilzsoup... she went insane one day and paid a henous amount of money to spend four nights in a hotel in one of the most amazing cities in the world...
Hotel 3030
On her first day there she went straight to the top of the Empire State Building. It took 2 1/2 hours to get there but it was more than worth it! She stayed up in the observatory for almost an hour fighting through crowds and hideous winds to get a good look at every corner of NYC. Eventually she bought a few souvenirs and went out to explore a little. She had every intention of going up to the Guggenheim but the lure of NY's shops was just too strong and she ended up in Macy's for lunch. Then after picking up her theatre tickets and a little stroll round central park the jet lag set in and she simply had to go back for a nap.

The next day she woke up early and headed for Central park again - why? ICE SKATING of course! She walked up 5th avenue (feeling just like Holly Golightly) to the Wollman rink and spent ages skating around - what could be more xmassy? She felt fantastic and it was only when the blisters on her ankles got too much that she was able to stop! Then she got some eats and walked up through the park towards the Guggenheim. It was an amazing place and it was extra cool because they had an exhibition of Pop art on which Elz loved. Then she went back to her hotel to change for the ballet in the evening. She enjoyed being in the new york state theater but she had to admit that she preferred the royal ballet's version of Nutcracker but she loved it all the same.
Day 3 started off slowly - she made a wrong turn on the subway and ended up at Brooklyn Bridge which was cool. Then she tried to find the ferry to get to the statue of liberty and ended up inadvertedly finding Ground Zero - not wanting to get closer than she had to and the whole affair (added to the atrocious weather) made her mind up as to what she should do that day: SHOPPING. So she went back to her hotel to make herself look presentable as there was only one shop she was desperate to go to: Tiffany's! So after a quick lunch in Starbucks Elz spent a good 5 hours shopping up and down 5th Ave... Saks, Macy's, Bergdorf Goodman... and Tiffany's where she bought the most delightful necklace that would outshine any of those hum drum folks back at home --->

As Day 4 dawned Elz grew quite sad at the thought of having to leave this magical place and as she had the morning to spend before she had to leave for the airport she took her camera and went off to Central Park again. After she'd wandered around, taking a few photos of the Park and going down to Rockerfeller Center she went to Broadway to do a bit of dance store shopping. Whilst having a quick coffee break in Starbucks it started to snow - it was a once in a lifetime moment, one of those things you'll never forget, as she sat there drinking hot chocolate watching the snow fall down onto Broadway... The rest of the day was filled with journeying and waiting around but that moment alone was worth the price of the trip because Elz was unbelievably happy. She was so very glad that she'd gone.
