Mind Trip

by The Devil in Blue Jeans

You’re a lady who drives me crazy, of that there’s no doubt
Your sexy smile and seductive winks make me want to shout
There’s something about everything you do that seems right
The way you hold me and dance fills me with delight

I am torn in my heart and confusion rules my soul
I wonder about the name of the play and what’s your role
Your lovely words and actions do not go hand in hand
I don’t think you’re lying to me but I would like to understand

With words you tell me you love me, more than you can say
Then you tell me you can’t give me what you gave to Ray
When I ask why you would hold back so much from me
You explained that there were level that I need to see

I frown in my thoughts and try my best to comprehend
I don’t want to, but I guess, it’s time to be just a friend
I’ve never liked being below or less then another
I’ll back away so you can be totally with your other

Young lady with lips of silk and eyes that matched
Looked shocked and said that to me she was attached
She was deep in thought then a smile came to her face
How can I explain that you are my center, my base?

I know! You can look into my mind and see the truth there
You know, that mind scan thing, do that to me if you dare
For I want you to see what’s in my mind and know
So whenever you’re ready, be gentle and please go slow

Shrugging my shoulder, I relax and go to that zone
Focusing my mind to connect across the great unknown
My mind flies through the tides, navigating with skill
Your room slowly comes into focus and you’re so real

Sitting in a dress and looking out the window nearby
Love to watch you, your face, legs and especially thigh
Your facial expression is strange makes me wonder
I enter your mind gently as a friend, not to plunder

Your mind welcomes me and holds me to make it last
Dust covered boxes full of memories from the past
They’re not what I seek so I move through the room
Where are the deadly guards or the defenses of doom?

I walk unopposed into the center to look around
There’s no bustling activity or any sound
On the controls in the center, I find the current files
Reading through them, I start to see the present trials

It becomes clear her room is not her joy but her prison
The window is a view to freedom when the sun has risen
She looks out into the bush and thinks of the life outside
How she longs to play in the surf and ride the tide

I never knew of my darling’s deep desires for another place
When I look at Ray’s files I see he was flagged as an ace
Looking deeper, I start to understand that he was a way out
Are these the levels you speak that gave him more clout?

I marvel at your mind, so organized and neat
It’s dipped in love and affection so that a stroll is a treat
Thank you for the invite to share with me your mind
I appreciate the blind trust you gave me, you’re so kind

After I return to the land that others see as normal
My mind is lightheaded but her speech was formal
Did you find what you needed to see, my friend?
Cause I have a headache now that you’re at the end

Sorry my dear, I tried to cause you no pain
I do know why and it all seems more sane
I understand more why I’m on your second tier
I don’t have the sadness now or the tears

I will look out my window as you look out yours
And think about your prison and wish for that monsieur
For all I can do is be a friend and be here for you
The mind trip and your hospitality as the glue
