INTRO by Rob (updated 02.05.07)

Sean Yseult. Where do I begin? She was originally the bassist and one of the founders of the band White Zombie, is one of the founders of the surf rock band Famous Monsters, and is one of the founders of the band Rock City Morgue. She has a loyal following on and offline, and has been a huge influence on women that want to play in a rock or metal band.

I first saw a pic of Sean back in late 1992 on the cover of the White Zombie album La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Volume One. My initial reaction was "Who's the hot chick with the bass?" After listening to the album, I found that a lot of her basslines were what stuck in my head (most notably the opening of the song "Black Sunshine"). At the same time, I was beginning to become interested in playing bass in a metal band that some friends were starting, and needless to say, I soon became a huge Sean fan. I did play bass in that band for a time (a very short time, as it turned out), and whenever anyone asked me which bassists influenced my desire to play, Sean always came up.

When White Zombie split up, I hoped Sean would move on to something new, which she did. Famous Monsters was the next band she was in. Granted, Famous Monsters' sound is very far from White Zombie, but it's great if you like surf rock. After Famous Monsters, Sean went on to help form the New Orleans-based band Rock City Morgue, which, as of this writing, is who she's with now. Make sure you check out their site and show your support! Sean has also been keeping herself busy in several other areas, among them being owner of the bar The Saint in New Orleans, and starting her own line of designer scarves, under the label Yseult Designs.

Sean's always been a huge influence on me, and a couple years back I brought up the idea of doing a tribute to Sean online to Patrick. He thought it was a great idea, as White Zombie is one of his favorite bands. That brings us to where we are now. Collected here are pictures of Sean from many different sources, including my own Sean scrapbook, which I worked on between 1993 and 1997. More pics and info will be posted in the future.

UPDATE 2-13-07

Hey all, Rob here.

Well, here's the big update I promised: Sean has agreed to an interview for our site! It's complete and ready to be read, so check it out here! Many thanks to Sean for agreeing to do this. ^_^

Right now I'm mulling over a way to have the site not crash so much, so once I'm done there expect the place to be a bit more accessible. We're also looking to do a site redesign at some point, but we could use a little help in that department. If you like to contribute, just let me know.

If anyone has any pics of Sean that we don't have here, please let me know, as we love contributions, and don't forget to check out the Yseult Designs and Rock City Morgue sites for more on Sean.

Almost 60,000 Hits and still going!!!
