Brakes
When I purchased the truck, it had the original brake system, minus the rear end witch had been replaced sometime  in the past. The original Master Cylinder and Front drum brakes were still installed. I replaced them with several kits  purchased On-Line

The original master cylinder. It was a single chamber, non boosted
design. Witch is fine if you are driving with the old in-line 6 engine, and
bouncing around on old dirt roads. Not if you have installed a Small-Block
Chevy engine, and plan on driving the truck all the time in all conditions.

This is the new Master Cylinder. I bought it Mail order, and it is
manufactured by TCI (Total Cost Involved). The kit included the master
cylinder, booster, pedal arm, Mounting bracket and hardware. I also
purchased an adjustable proportioning valve, and a one way check valve. I
purchased the brake line from a local brake supply house, and bent the
line myself. The kit installed quickly and relatively painlessly.

These are the origional front drums.
They were in considerably good
condition, but were in no shape to
bring the truck to a stop from in excess
of 70 MPH!
This is the new disk brakes that are on the truck now. I
purchased the basic kit from ECI, witch included the brackets,
bearing spacers, and mounting hardware. I then went to
AUTO ZONE, and purchased new calipers and rotors from a
1972 Camero.  The kit went together quickly and painlessly.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with both kits.
