Finding Furry Stuff
The vast bulk of furry material is available from other furry fans
-- self-published fanzines and artists' portfolios, or stories and
pictures archived at FTP and Web sites.
Commercially Available
The
Recommended Furry Reading List is for fans who
want to know what anthropomorphic movies, TV series, novels, etc. are
worth looking for, and lists the items eligible for nomination for the
annual
Ursa Major Awards.
Furry Art Info
Furries Online
Artwork
- Avatar has been
the repository for furry artwork online for many years, and recently
relocated to a new site, with a faster server and better bandwidth.
- FurNation
bills itself as "an inclusive, uncensored, and non-profit
Internet forum/showcase" for anthropomorphic material, such as
artwork, stories, animation, costumes, music and poetry.
- Yerf permits only images of a
"PG" or less rating, and has indexes sorted by artist,
date and title. Or did, until the server's hard drive crashed in December, 2004.
(Previously known as The Squeeky Clean Furry Archive.)
-
The Velan Central Library (aka the Vixen Controlled Library)
archives images by artist, making it easy
to find someone's work whose style you like -- although, the directory
is by artists' first names (or nicknames).
- The Orlando Furry Archives
hosts sites for several dozen artists, with a directory also sorted
by artists' first names.
- Yiffco provided convenient
Web-based indexes of various image archives, but shut down in 1998,
in case you'd heard about it and were wondering. Someone else has taken over
the domain name for a private site, unrelated to the original owners.
Stories
Network Games
- Rhal's Furry MU*s Page describes the Internet

graphical online game for Wintel computers.
- Avalia was a graphical online game under development for
Macintosh users, but seems no longer available.

to the FurryNet (fur.*) Newsgroups explains a private
hierarchy of news servers on the Internet which carry a dozen or
so newsgroups on various furry topics, founded in late 1996.

are frequented by artists and those interested in furry art.
-
The Furry Forum
is a mailing list for the discussion of the latest furry doings.
Topics can range from information on where one can find a good
fursuit to reviews of furry themed literature and artwork. Although
unmoderated, flaming is not allowed and the listadmin will remove
offenders. To subscribe, send e-mail to
[email protected]
(subject and content of body doesn't matter).
- FurNet was a furry-themed amateur computer bulletin board
system network using the FidoNet protocol, which was founded in the
1980s and disbanded by early 2000. Prior to the rise of the
Internet, this was the main way furries communicated online.

The Lion King
One of the best furry films of recent memory, so since I'm a big
lion fan, it gets its own section. And in fact, if you also go to the
Furry Search site,
you'll find a lot more Lion King links!
