argumentum ad baculum*

if my feet
could have carried me
away from my cell
across concrete
I would stay
because I dont run
when youre
trying to kill me
with your hands so
tight on my hips,
hot, rough, oh
can I feel
each ridge
of your fingerprint
like black ink
pressed
onto my paper skin

I could only
say yes
and second
the motions you made
my hand a gavel no
a claw
to grip
to hold on
to the bars of my cage
for my life
while you argue
for a stronger defense
my case can be so weak but oh
my dear
you have made
your point
so eloquently

*Appealing to force to settle the question. A technique of judicial or deliberative rhetoric
