| We were married first in Vevey, Switzerland on the 7th of July 2001. After the ceremony we took a boat to Montreux just down the Lake of Geneva. This was our first wedding celebration, please check our link for the second celebration in Wichita. |
| On the morning of July seventh the weather was not looking splendid. There was a lot of rain and it was really dark outside. For those of you who know Domini well...this didn't get her down, actually it is her kind of day! After giving our vows we took a promenade on side of the lake to meet the boat that would take us to Montreux, the place of our reception. As we were on the boat ride over, the skies began to clear and there was a mysical look over the mountains in the way the clouds were hanging over them. It turned out to be a beautiful day! A large highlight of our day was when we were taking the boat back from Montreux and a whole family (15 people)from Egypt got together and sang us a special wedding song that touched us deeply! Where is the video camera when you need it? In many of the photos you will see many of our close friends that we had at our small ceremony. A few days later we had our bags packed and we were headed to the states to celebrate once again with family and friends in Wichita, Kansas. Grandma and Grandpa had been planning this for so long it did not surprise us when everything went perfect! It was a happy time full of laughing, joking and being around those close to us. Pastor Meis gave our vows and the garden that grandma planted made the atmosphere beautiful for a wedding! . Our second official wedding took place on Friday July 13th 2001. With research we found that instead of this being an unlucky day....it is a day of good fortune for those married on it! |
