The flight to Caracas took just around eight hours from Geneva. Then we bought two tickets for the island of Margarita.
(note...) Most people don't know that if you buy tickets locally there is quite a price difference for the better. We learned this from reading through travel advice.
The island wasn't quite as tropical as we were expecting. The most part looked quite dry and undeveloped.
Most of our time we spent on the beach lathered in sunscreen! Needing cheap entertainment we constructed our version of a sea turtle! (see picture)
We walked around town and ate some local food and drinks. The people are very friendly and in all we were very pleased for a nice relaxing hotel vacation. On the other hand it was not a place we would choose to go back to. |
