On our way to the Truck Jamboree and Catalina Island, I made the club stop by the JET Performance shop in Hunington Beach, California. What follows is a mini-tour of their facility, and the steps that are involved in updating the engine fuel and spark curves to gain the most possible power out of each application. This is NOT something you could do at home, so don't think of this as another install guide.
If you have done ANY work to your engine, such as custom exhaust or a free-flow air filter, then this upgrade is a must have. Hopefully Off-road.com will get me some dyno time here in Phoenix, so we can get some real HP numbers to you. But my initial impressions are good. Very good. Gas Mileage is up 2-3mpg, and this is with my aggressive, read that MORE aggressive, driving style. I also averaged an additional 10mph FASTER coming home. Thats with keeping it in top gear, so this is also a welcome improvement. Off the line, the Rodeo accelerates so much better. I have even had the chance to embarrass a couple of Chevy Blazer owners, so watch out! Dan has his CHIP!!!
