II. The Walkthrough (!)
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
When you watch the opening scenes, you’ll have
control of Serena in a field of grass.
Analysis of Serena: Serena is a very good character. Her Moon spells are
extremely strong (just wait until you get Holy 2!)and she is one of three people
who can cure the whole party with healing spells.
%%%ANOTHER
DIMENSION%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Items to Get: Dress, Ribbon, Potion, Ether
Walk south, and you’ll get blocked off by a shadowy figure. This is an
easy battle, just use Serena’s Moon Tiara attack a couple times to defeat her.
(Tip: Serena’s Moon Tiara is very strong but it consumes some MP each time its
used, so you shouldn’t use it on normal enemies unless they are very tough)Now
you’ll come up to a few signs. One tells you where the paths lead, and the
other warns you of monsters in the river maze. Ignore the maze for now and go
east to the cave. Its blocked off by a boulder, so you can’t get in here yet.
However, go into the Inn next to it and get the Potion from the chest there. Go
west to the town of Kalma. Speak with the residents to learn about where you are
and what has happened. You can buy items in the Item Shop, I suggest you buy at
least one extra Potion and buy at least two Ethers. In one house, a person will
offer you an Ether for 20 Gold (cheap!!!) (Tip: BUY IT! Oh, buy it! ^_^)
You’ll learn of another person in a uniform like Serena’s in the river maze.
It must be another Senshi (note: I REFUSE to call them Scouts ^_^)! Go outside
and enter the River Maze (Tip: Save before going in). Serena will transform into
Sailor Moon and you should get her equipment. This maze isn’t too hard, but
enemies show up pretty frequently. You should use Serena’s gun attack to
defeat them (Tip: Navigate the maze carefully. If you fall into the water, you
get into a tough fight with a bunch of turtles and you return to the beginning).
There are two chests here, containing a Dress and a Ribbon. Eventually you will
come upon a creature guarding Ami. (Tip: Save now!) Talk to it to trigger a
battle.
The Grim Reaper is a good idea of just how challenging the bosses in this
game are. If you’re on level three or four, this battle won’t be tough. Use
your gun attack to defeat the other two morons with him, then use Moon Tiara
constantly against the boss. Use potions or Cure (preferably the latter) to
heal. And use Ethers if your MP runs low.
After defeating the Reaper, Ami joins the group! (Tip: When you have
multiple people in the party, you can cure everyone with Serena’s Cure magic).
Analysis of Ami: In my opinion, Ami isn’t my favorite character. Most
of her attacks are pretty weak and her stronger ones are very inaccurate (e.g.
Tidal Wave). But since you have her, use her.
Flick the lever behind Ami to open the passage to the cave. Then go back
to the Inn and heal. Then enter the cave.
%%%SHARK INFESTED
CAVE%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Items to Get: BB Gun (x2), M-Dress, Potion (x2),
Fur, Hi-Potion, M-Boots
In the cave, you’ll fight new enemies. These guys
are significantly tougher too. First *this is important* go up and get the
chest. There’s a pair of BB Guns in there and the M-Dress. Equip them, as they
are much better than the Pea Guns. Use them to defeat the enemies. Stay near the
entrance and build up levels, and run back to the Inn for healing (don’t use
your items, as you need them later and you need to spend most of your money on
Ethers). When you feel you’re ready to tackle the cave, go inside and go down.
You’ll fight a shell (Evil Shell, not a tough fight. Use normal attacks and
Moon Tiara). Take the Potion from the chest, then go back up from the entrance
and take the passage going right (just below the chests with the BB Guns).
Defeat the second Evil Shell, and pull the lever to remove the boulder blocking
the passage. Go east to a fork. Go south and beat up the third shell (remember,
if in need, don’t be afraid to hurry back to the Inn! Don’t use too many
potions and items). Flick the lever and go back to the fork. Go north this time,
and you’ll see Luna at the end of this path. Save, then walk up to Luna.
However, you have to fight the Nega-Witch to rescue her.
The Nega-Witch can be tough, depending on what attacks it uses. If you
use Moon Tiara (or Meteor, if you have it), this won’t be a tough battle. Ami
can use normal attacks and heal the party. If you’re level 7-8 you can win.
After you defeat the Nega-Witch, Luna joins your group.
(Analysis of Luna: Luna isn’t that great a character, but some of her
attacks are pretty strong like the Luna Leap. And they aren’t inaccurate, like
Ami’s.) Throw the lever and the third path in the fork is removed (boy, this
is a long cave isn’t it?) (I sure have used a lot of parentheses lately
haven’t I?).
I *strongly* recommend heading back to the Inn for healing, especially if
the Witch battle left you hurting. Then you can come back. Continue to another
fork. South is another chest. Collect the Potion from it, then go north.
Eventually you’ll come to a blocked side passage. Keep going until you hit
another fork. Go on the side passage to find the Hi-Potion and the Fur (note:
you have to fight a Jack-In-The-Box to get them, but its not hard. Save first
though). Continue through the main passage to find a spider (boy there are a lot
of bosses in this cave aren’t there?)
This is the first fight that *really* tests your strength. If you’re
level 8-9, that’s great. Save before this fight, as its very hard. First you
should kill off the Spideyes with Mercury’s Shabon Spray (Bubbles)and Moon’s
Half Moons. Then restore Moon’s MP if need be, and use Moon Tiara and Meteor
on the big spider. Mercury can heal, and use Tidal Wave if you have it. This
battle will probably take a few tries.
After (if) you beat the Spider, flick the lever and go back to the first
side passage. Its unblocked now. Continue through this passage and go up at the
fork. Battle the fourth Shell and throw the lever. Back at the fork go the other
way. Beat up the shell there, and go into the water. Feel around to find your
way through, and you’ll get into a fight with a Shark.
Again, the Shark is probably just as hard as the Spider. Meteor, Holy (if
you have it...good luck), and Mercury healing are good strategies. This is
another tough, but pretty straightforward, battle. If the shark nails one of
your characters, don’t worry about wasting a Revive potion. Just reload from
the save before this fight (you...did...save...before...right?)
Throw the lever, get the M-Boots, and go save Raye. Again, another boss
battle (this guy really made this game hard, didn’t he?)
This is easily the toughest fight yet! A Nega-Witch and two spiders. Take
the spiders down with Half Moons and Shabon Spray, then do the same for the
Spideyes. If the Nega-Witch isn’t down yet, she should fall in a couple hits.
This battle is very hard because these enemies can do lots of damage quickly.
Rapid healing with Serena’s Cure spell (when she’s not curing, do Half
Moons) will help, but if they do enough damage you can fall in two rounds.
After you beat those guys (whew!) Raye joins! Yay!
(Analysis of Raye (Mars): Mars is one of the best characters. Although
she doesn’t have the powerful cure abilities of Moon, Chibi-Moon, or Venus,
she has one of the best attacks in the game (Curse) and gets lots of HP.)
Okay, with Raye, follow the path to the exit (phew...) However at the
exit, waiting for you, is Jasmine. Save.
Jasmine is tough. She will restore your energy before the fight so use
that to your full advantage. If you have at least four Ethers, and you have
Holy, use it until you need to cure Serena’s MP with an Ether. Then, you
should have Serena use Cure to restore the party. Raye should use Curse, and Ami
can use Tidal Wave (assuming you have it). Luna can use Luna Leap or Moon Beam.
Jasmine has some powerful attacks, in particular her Dark Bolt spell. If you
have Serena healing every turn (or when you get low), eventually, you will
defeat Jasmine.
After beating Jasmine, you can leave. Now get the heck out of here and
SLEEP! Take a break; you earned it. Oh, don’t walk around in the grass in
town, Vega. You’ll fight big birds, which you don’t want. Now, make sure you
save. Go to the shops and buy new stuff (you may want to skip on pistols for now
and just re-stock your potions and ethers), then go to the bar and try to buy a
drink (save before doing this). Beat him to get a beer. Search the fountain in
the middle of town to get a Hi Potion. You can also do the Hag sidequest now
(its at the end of this FAQ). Go to the ghost’s house, where you can trade
Feathers for Tornado spells. Save, rest at the inn if need be, and walk around
on the grass right near the inn. You’re bound to run into a Hawk Leader (a
brown hawk) sooner or later (if you don’t, just run away). Defeat it to get a
feather. Go trade this feather (don’t wait to get all four) and get the
Tornado spell. Give it to Serena. Use this to make the Hawk Leader fights
easier. Get more Feathers (up to four) and give them to the ghost for the other
three Tornado spells. Use them on other people, it really doesn’t matter who,
providing you’ll be using them often in your party(but I recommend giving one
to Raye and saving the others for Rini and Mina, as (IMO) the best party is
Serena, Raye, Rini, and Mina because of the curing abilities and Mars’
attacks). With the Tornado spell, you can fight the Tough Hawks. Return to the
entrance of Vega (from the east cave, near the skateboarder)and go south. See
the cave entrance down there? Go into it. The Tough Hawks are, well, tough. You
can’t beat them without the Tornado spell. Use it to beat them all in one shot
(occasionally, they will survive or dodge the spell. In that case, nail them
with another Tornado). Guarding this cave is the Raven.
This guy comes with two Hawk Leaders. Nail them all with constant
Tornadoes until the leaders are defeated, then use regular attacks, Tornado, and
Holy on the Raven. Have Serena cure, this isn’t *too* bad of a fight, just
save before it.
In this little cave, you’ll find Lita. You have to find some medicine
to cure her sickness before she’ll join though. Flick the switch to open the
Ice Cavern. Go back to the inn and rest (fight regular Hawks and the leaders for
experience). Then go to the Ice Cavern (the entrance is totally obvious). Make
sure you *save* before going in!
%%%WINTER
WONDERLAND%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Items to Get: Lenses, Revive
Okay, when you go into the cavern, take a note that
you *cannot* save in here, except at save points (flashing blue squares with an
S). This place is probably tougher than the East Cave, so don’t be afraid to
run back to Vega for healing. Make sure you bring at least six Ethers and a
bunch of Hi Potions. Trust me, you *will* need them. Go inside to be greeted by
a big area of snow and trees. Just run to the right through the snow (the cold
will make you take some damage, but its pretty insignificant). Follow the path
to a small cave opening. The sign tells you it’s a dragon’s cave, but you
can’t enter it yet. Skip it for now and continue on. Speak to Rini, and she
will join your party! She *must* be put in the party. Swap out either Luna or
Ami (just DON’T swap out Raye or Serena). Go on to the next chamber, to
realize its an invisible maze. This isn’t too hard, you just have to feel
around to get through. At the end you’ll fight an invisible monster.
This is a very interesting battle. Have Moon, Mercury/Luna, and Mars hold
off and have Rini perform Star Crash on the boss until its visible. Then Moon,
Mercury/Luna, and Mars can hurt this enemy. Blast it with Holy, Curse, Tidal
Wave, and Luna Leap until its dead. This is an easy battle, if very creative.
Talk to the woman to get the Lenses, which lets you see invisible stuff
(like the maze walls). Now when you come to a fork go left and circle around to
the chest with a Revive potion. Now go back and walk towards the penguin.
Jasmine appears, and transforms it into a super penguin.
The Super Penguin is tough, but you can defeat it without too much
trouble. Use Rini and cast the Twilight spell over and over, this should inflict
a lot of damage on all of them. Use that to kill off the regular penguins. Moon
should cast Holy when she gets a chance, and heal. Mars should keep Cursing the
boss. And Ami should do Tidal wave, while Luna casts Luna Leap.
In this next room is a blob like thing. Circle around and approach it
from the right, and kill it. As it dies, the Creeper releases Zombies. If you
want, you can fight them for experience or just run. If you fight, cast Holy
constantly. One zombie will never vanish, so fight it to your hearts content.
Don’t waste Ethers so you can keep up Holy, unless you have a lot of gold. On
the right wall is the exit to the next part of this cavern. You can now swap out
Rini but I recommend keeping her, she’s good.
I recommend you head back to Vega for healing and item restocking
(especially if you fought the zombies). If you didn’t do the Hag quest yet, go
do it now. Restock items if necessary and buy new armor and weapons (armor is a
bigger priority). Save now, then continue through the game to another save
point. Save here. Follow to another big room. See the walls? They’re shaped
like arrows. Follow them to the next forest (you have to walk under a ceiling
that looks like a wall). You’ll enter another forest area. Walk left until
you’re about four steps away from the trees, then walk up one step so you’re
on the same line as the green leaf. Then walk left to the leaf. If you do it
right, you’ll walk through without being damaged. Get the medicine. Jasmine
shows up to fight you in what is definitely one of the tougher battles.
Jasmine is very hard this time around. She has two Nega-Crystals for help
(Crystal C is the blue one and Crystal A is the red one). Crystal C will cure
Jasmine for 500 every couple rounds, and Crystal A uses the Laser spell every
couple rounds for about 50 damage to someone (ouch). Have Rini do the Twilight
spell for good damage, Serena cure nearly every round, and Raye should cast
Curse on the blue one. Once its dead, have Rini keep the Twilights coming while
Raye uses Curse on Jasmine. Twilight is a VERY strong spell, never underestimate
it. Keep healing, and use one or two ethers on Rini and save the rest for Serena
(if you only have four, use 1 on Rini). Keep going, you’ll beat Jasmine
eventually.
After (or if) you beat Jasmine, she runs off, and you can now get the
medicine to Lita. Go back through the cave and heal at the inn before going to
Lita. You may want to go get some extra potions and stuff, too. Fight through
the Tough Hawks (also, if you saved two Tornado spells, give one to Rini. If you
only saved one, save it for Mina)and give the medicine to Lita. She eagerly
joins. The old man tells you if you get the Three Orbs you can get home. The
first is located in the Dragon’s Cave (in the Ice Cavern *wink*). Lita joins,
but they decide they should leave Rini here (and Luna will guard her). So, Luna
and Rini leave for now (darn, Rini was good too). Okay, make sure you put Lita
in the team, as she’s good.
(Analysis of Lita: Lita (Jupiter) is quite a good character. She gets
really good HP scores, even better than Raye’s, and her regular attack is
powerful. And her spells are pretty powerful too (Dragon!). Keep and use her
well). Now, its time to go find the first orb! Before you go, go to the item
shop. Buy a lot of Ethers. Then buy even more Ethers. Then buy a bunch of Hi
Potions. Then save. NOW you’re ready ^_^.
%%%A TWIST OF
FATE%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Okay, go back to the Ice Cavern. Remember the
Dragon’s Lair entrance? You can enter it now. See the dark blue ice? Follow it
to a hole. Go up to the dragon to start a battle.
The Dragon isn’t all too tough, actually, as long as you restocked your
Ethers. Have Serena keep curing (cast Holy when not healing, if you have Holy 2
don’t use it, at this stage in the game it saps too much MP), and Raye cast
Curse. Lita should use Dragon and Ami should Tidal Wave the boss. Its not a
difficult battle. Just be wary of his Laser spell, as it does 40-60 to one
character. If he casts his Fire spell, this will hurt everyone, except Mars will
probably only take 1-5 damage (this is good).
After beating up the Dragon, you realize its a baby dragon (LOL). And it
runs off, where you find the mother. Its a giant dragon (d’oh) and it shoots
fireballs at you, knocking you all out. Then, well, you don’t know what
happens. The scene switches to Rini and Luna back at the Old Man’s house. Then
Jasmine appears, and sics some monsters on you.
You have to fight two regular penguins and a Nega-Witch here. This
isn’t a hard battle at all. Luna should assault the witch with Luna Leap while
Rini hits them all with Twilights. Two twilights should take out the penguins,
and leave the witch severely damaged. Keep leaping and casting Twilight, the
boss will fall shortly.
Jasmine knocks Luna aside and takes Rini away, despite your efforts. Then
you go back to the Senshi.
They are inside the dragon (LOL) and alive. Get up and go over to the
bottle (like in the Ice Cavern, you can only save at a Save Point). Its a
message from Mina, so you realize she must be in here. This place is TOTALLY
straightforward, so just follow the path. Most of the enemies in here are weak
to the Holy spell, so use it often (don’t use Holy 2 unless you’re facing a
large group of tough enemies). The yellow stuff heals you if you walk around in
it (cool). Continue on. You’ll find Mina, guarded by a Super Zombie (two
zombies that fused together).
The Super Zombie really isn’t that hard. If you have a lot of Ethers
like I said you should get, hit him/her/it(?) with Holy 2 constantly to make
this a quick fight. If you don’t have Holy 2, use Holy instead. Curse, Dragon,
and Tidal Wave are good too.
Mina now joins. Replace Ami with her. (analysis of Mina: She’s great!
Her whip is powerful, she gets good spells, and -get this- she has Cure spells
like Serena’s (cure the whole party)! Use her OFTEN!). Now I can recommend a
good party: Serena, Mina, Raye, and Rini (if you ever get her back). Continue
forward, save (you may wish to go back to the yellow pool for healing), etc. If
you don’t have the Holy 2 spell yet (and you really should), fight battles
until you pick it up. Continue forward until you reach the orb, where you’ll
be swarmed by some monsters.
This swarm involves a few Zombies and a bunch of Skeleton Birds. The Holy
2 spell is awesome here. It will leave them all dead, or very close to it. If
any of them actually survive Holy 2, just hit them with Curse/Love
Chain/Dragon/Holy (1).
After that battle, you’ll meet up with a Giant Skeleton Bird. It
carries you off, and as you float over an island you’ll kill it and drop down
on the island (ouch). There is a save point here, but it doesn’t work.
Instead, you have to create a raft to ride the rapids. Mercury casts Shabon
Spray (Bubbles) to do that.
%%%THE
RAPIDS%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Next you have to...just kidding. That’s the end
of the game so far. I’ll update this walkthrough as the game updates itself!
III. Side Quests
%%%%%%%%%%%
%%%THE
HAG%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
The Hag lives in a hidden cave in Vega. If you
defeat her, you will get a lot of Experience (a nice reward, since leveling in
this game is rather hard). Okay, go down in between the Hospital and the
Ghost’s house (the Ghost that gives you Tornado spells for Feathers). You’ll
discover a hidden cave. At the end of this small area is the Hag. She’s hard
to kill, but not all that strong. Just use your general strategy. If you bring
Rini for this fight, its much easier (Twilight!). Serena should cure and use
Holy when not curing.
