For NT machine: 1. Click the start button. 2. Click the Run menu item. 3. Type Cmd. This will bring you dos prompt. 4. Type ipconfig to find out your machine's IP. For Windows 95 & 98: 1. Click the start button. 2. Click the Run menu item. 3. Type winipcfg to find out your machine's IP. For UNIX workstations: 1. Login to the WORKSTATION using your existing Unix id and password 2. Invoke a terminal by clicking the fourth icon’s PULL-DOWN menu from the left and selecting Terminal in the menu. 3. Type the command hostname. You will get the name of the workstation, which you can use in place of the IP address.
