The Line 'Twixt Reason and Madness
Cast
Fogsleeper
Fogsleeper was born in the year 2000, known to her as
'forever ago' in the snowy regions of Alaska 'The Cold
Warm Place.' The Garou gene came from her mother
actually, she had decided to settle down and live the
simple life of a wolf, akin to being a hermit I
suppose. She had a little of five, Fogsleeper and
four brothers. I don't know whether any of
Fogsleeper's sibling turned out to be Garou.
One day, when Fogsleeper was still nursing but was
starting to stalk rabbits and birds in the tundra
landscape, the pack went out hunting and left her and
her sibling with the baby-sitter (yes, wolves have
baby sitters, especially arctic wolves because they
have to travel so much to find food. Random scientific
fact. Read 'Ten Years With The Pack' by David L. Mech
some time.). While her family was gone a human plane
flew across the sky. Fogsleeper was unalarmed because
she had seen these planes fly across before, but this
plane was different. This plane circled down and began
to shoot at the baby-sitter. Guns on a plane vs. a
lone wolf, well... it was no contest. When the
baby-sitter was dead the plane landed and two humans
got out with cages. They walked to the den a started
chasing around the pups. Fogsleeper and the rest of
the pups had hide when the guns sounded, but they were
soon chased out and put in the cages.
For the next two weeks Fogsleeper and her siblings
lived in the kitchen of a human and his family. It was
not good. The lights burned her eyes, and the constant
peering and poking of the human pups aggravated her.
The food was bad, the goat milk was not enough to
sustain the wolf pups. Fogsleeper grew weak, and one
of her brothers died.
Finally, a man in a funny suit came on day and took
the pups away. he gave them to another wolf with other
pups, and they soon formed a pack. But this pack was
not to last long, a year later Fogsleeper and her
brother Sits-In-Shadow was put in a funny room, which
did a funny feeling thing. When she went out of the
room she was in a new warmer place. She had reached
Minnesota.
Until recently she lived in the Como Zoo with her
brother. The wolves are kept right at the entrance to
the zoo, so lots of people stopped by to look at the
two. Fogsleeper got used to the attention, after all
the had good food and a place to retreat to if it
became to much. Mostly, her view of humans has been a
positive one, and she's led the easy life, the most
the hunted was to stalk the squirrels and rabbits that
entered the cage. I think if she had to enter the wild
again, join a new pack, hunt down dear in the snow,
and just be forced to survive, it would be tough. Of
course, the park officials never considered her for
reintroduction efforts as she was too used to humans.
More bios coming soon...

Caern of the Steel Lake
This caern is, as far as the characters knew, the only one in St. Paul. It is a caern of healing, with a West Wind Incarna as its totem. It helps the characters out several times over the course of the chronicle, but is eventually drained by Thalassa and his minions in the Second-to-last story.
