PEEP THIS
I saw you watching me, you didn't think I knew
I saw you peepin’ me from a laid back point of view
I saw you wondering where and how I came
You leaned over and asked ya boy, “Man, what’s her name?”
Yet there were other thoughts trippin’ in ya mind
Ones that made you asked God “Why is she so divine?”
You questioned Him whether I was meant to be your Queen
Your reaction to my presence is that of a crack fiend
You’re addicted to the twinkle, glint and smile in my brown eyes.
Yeah, I know you want to indulge in the sweet taste of my Chocolate thighs
Do you feel the jazz, the spark, that smooth natural high?
It escalates to blast off the very moment I pass u by
What can I say Baby you look good too.
The only problem is I’m too much for you.
The Horror
She disagrees but tries to understand, though the Beast’s fury slays the peaceful mind. The wretched Devil gloats and gleams at his victorious conquest, blood his reward pain his sword, disgrace his motive, I see them tossing, words strewn about, her shame escalates as does the Demon’s pride. Wound-results shown through her fair skin, shattered-love through her sorrow-filled eyes, Anger becomes It, the Beast once more rips the dignity straight from the soul of her breast.
They Wasn’t Ready
They wasn’t ready when they took us from the birthplace of humanity and civilization, where we communicated a nation. They brought us to degradation but didn’t know there was a different plan.
They wasn’t ready when they broke our backs for “Massa”, gave him rainbow shaded descendents as beautiful as our parents and lost loves they snatched us from at midnight to make us believe we were less than human, less that animal having no right to exist but to serve them, but they didn’t know we only serve Him.
They wasn’t ready when they freed our bodies from bondage not ever realizing our minds and souls had never been captive in their false reality of superiority. They didn’t know we could talk without speaking, sing without voices, move with no muscle, feel without touching and know having never been told.
They didn’t know we had ideas, messages, truths that bled through words, soaked thru songs, ground into generations of time and creation.
They wasn’t ready for us to stop at a red light and go on green, make ice, sugar & milk become ice cream, make ordinary words have extraordinary meaning, make beauty a study of art, make color sound silky sweet, and music ravish radiance.
They wasn’t ready when we stopped ridin’ started walkin’ started marchin’ started runnin’ a race with no competition the only goal to finish without quitting becuz “SUCCESS IS NOT ACCIDENTAL AND FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION.”
They wasn’t ready for our children to grow up next door to theirs, introduce them to our parents, our ancestors, our stolen childhood, and have them like it, love it and want to be it.
They wasn’t ready when the truth started leakin and pouring and we continued to hammer, saw, melt, explode thru the titanium piping of secrets hidden over our heads that they thought we hadn’t noticed—but we did
So now that I have your attention...
We’ve demonstrated, delegated, concentrated, eradicated, designed, erected and fostered a nation
u approached me shyly and i smiled in my heart not knowing your true power, your love possessed me from the start
you didn't know your own strength believing u could not love said your heart was a vulture's den but i saw the wings of a dove
ready to be released and stretch open to the wonders around to gaze upon a sight unseen lifting our souls from under the ground
i gave you something to cherish the 8th wonder of this world no material price is worthy of this treasure the beauty of my feminine pearl
there was no special ceremony, though we were joined mind, body, & soul the days we've been apart it's your face i ache to behold
i feel our spirits kiss and intertwine 2 curves joining in 1 straight line
