Long ago, in a place called The Realm of Magic, or Detiphay, raged a war, known to most inhabitants of Detiphay, as the FireWar. The only person who posessed the magic to defeat the Fire was he with the Comet's Mark. The only creature said to posess this was a very brave man named Harkyme. According to the legends, he was the only living creature who could end Detiphay's pain. Only problem, was he was a mere boy when the war began. He was hiden within the Empire until he was twenty-four, he was trained in the arts of magic and war. After his training was complete, Sir Malliyn, the King of Detiphay sent him to fight the fire. Little did the Malliyn know that will trapped in the Castle, Harkyme had been romancing the his daughter, the StarMage.

The StarMage was the most powerful Sorcerous in Detiphay. But, due to her gender, she was not permitted to join the fight against the Fire. The day that Harkyme left to war, the StarMage left as well. She knew that her spells alone could defeat the Fire's Forces, and the Harkyme's defensive magic would keep them both safe. The only soul that the StarMage told about their relationship was Calua, her slave, or as she looked as her best friend. Dispite her disapporval, Calua had no choose but to go along with the StarMage's plans. She had told the King that his daughter killed herself.

But the King soon learned of his daughter's whereabouts by word of mouth. Rumor had it that the StarMage had given birth and married Harkyme, the Comet's Gift. This news brought hope to the people, for even if the two sorcerors failed and died at the hands of the Fire, their daughter held both their magic and more. Malliyn sent several search parties to find his daughter, but Harkyme's winged steed, SteamSong, kept them out of reach from the King's servants.
