You must be joking! Are you thinking of gray elephants in Denmark?
Seriously, can you make an algebraic equation that explains how this works?
Swimmer Puzzle
The swimmer who finished last was a winner.
The event was the butterfly, a very difficult event. Only five boys and one girl were entered in the event. Rather than waste time with two races, one with only one participant, the coaches and race officials persuaded the girl to swim with the boys. Since the girls’ (or girl’s, if you prefer) race had only one participant, she would win first-place points for her team if she finished the race without being disqualified--which she did. However, she was slower than any of the five boys who raced against each other in the other lanes.
Naturally, the boy who finished first was also a winner.
