You were first a session bass player and later an official member of Ancient. How did you get in touch with the band ?
Scorpios : I got in touch with Aphazel, back in about 96 ... through the mail when I was still living in the U.S, he actually recorded guitars on our Crimson Moon debut cd "To Embrace the Vampyric Blood" on the song Eye of the Draconis. When came time for their US tour for the Mad Grandiose Blood fiends tour, he asked me to do session bass, and I was up for it ... I didnt become an official member until the end of the European Mad Grandiose Bloodfiends tour, when I moved to Italy... and the band had a major change in line up. I was planning to record for the Halls of Eternity album ... but I will just say things werent going in a way I was very pleased with and I decided to call it quits.
How do you see your time in Ancient afterwards ? Like how do you feel about it, do you have good memories ?
Scorpios : Ah yes, touring was definately an experience. I was much more into the Svartalvheim days, so I was really hoping to go back in that direction... Though Erichte's fiancé, Zwaznu was recently staying out here with me in Germany, and he also played session keyboards on the Mad Grandiose..." tours. We had many memories to recollect... many which are of the look back later and laugh type situation.
Are you still in contact with any current or other former members of Ancient ?
Scorpios : Yes, most of the former members, and I am still in touch with Aphazel, I met the current line up at a show a few halloweens back in France, but didn't remain in contact.
If Ancient was, let’s say a German band, instead of being mostly Italian, could you see yourself still playing in Ancient ?
Scorpios : To be honest I have only heard one track off the last album Night Visit, so it is hard to say. I have always kept Crimson Moon as my priority.
Could you tell something about your current bands ?
Scorpios : Crimson Moon has been around since '94 it's occult Black Metal, we have a strange way of doing things compared to most bands I know of, but it's not a band that is ever going to have a drastic change in style.
AKRABU is entirely music highly based on a spiritual nature. Nothing metal at all, but still quite dark and evocative.
My other projects, Sabnack, Serpent Seduced Eve and EVP are all basically solo projects I use as outelts when I feel the need to express something on a different level than what would be within the standards of Crimson Moon and AKRABU.
What bands you listen to nowadays and who inspire you ?
Scorpios : As far as black metal goes, I am pretty picky about new stuff, I am much more into the stuff from a few years back, I listen to alot of different music though from Sopor Aeturnus and Devil Doll, to Dead Can Dance and various ethnic world music. Sometimes I will listen to Primus and bands that are simply phenomenal musicians, and other times I will listen to something like Darkthrone.... which can be simplicity at its best.
