| BEST OF 2003 December 22, 2003 RAW CHAMPION(S) OF THE YEAR: Triple H- he held the title for most of 2003. Only Goldberg stood in his way. Eventually he defeated Goldberg for the World Heavyweight Championship at Armageddon. SMACKDOWN! CHAMPION(S) OF THE YEAR: Brock Lesnar- he defeated Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX. He lost the belt to Angle later in the year, but fought his way back to the top and beat Angle in an Ironman match. MOST DISAPPOINTING RAW SUPERSTAR: Scott Steiner- he came in looking like a stud. Then the WWE screwed him over with bad story-lines. MOST DISAPPOINTING SMACKDOWN! SUPERSTAR- Rhyno- he came back from a neck injury, and was never the same again. RAW BREAK THROUGH WRESTLER: Randy Orton- joining Evolution was the smartest move for the WWE. He topped the year off by defeating RVD for the I.C. belt at Armageddon. SMACKDOWN BREAK THROUGH WRESTLER: John Cena- he challenged the likes of Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, and Kurt Angle all year. He'll soon face the Big Show for a chance at the U.S. Championship. MOST IMPROVED RAW SUPERSTAR: Shawn Michaels- after being gone from the WWE for so long, Shawn used the year 2003 to push him as the #1 contender. He battled his heart out against Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, & Batista. He also gave the fight of his life in the Survivor Series match. MOST IMPROVED SMACKDOWN! SUPERSTAR: Kurt Angle- after losing his title to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XIX with a broken neck, many wondered if Angle would ever be the same again. He came back and shot back to the top and captured the WWE Championship once again. |
| 2004 Projections January 3, 2004 The year 2004 has arrived & Rey Mysterio has already captured the Cruiserweight Championship from Tajiri. Mysterio will look to begin a new reign as champ in 2004. What else does 2004 have in store? It should be an exciting year for Chris Benoit. After being told he would never get a shot at the WWE Championship again, Benoit has already earned a spot in the Royal Rumble. Although he is the #1 entry, he should go far in his quest to win the title. 2004 should provide Evolution with some mighty challenges. Each member holds a world title. They will need to be at the top or their games since they are marked men. Maybe Chris Jericho has made a few New Years Resolutions. He is in Trish Stratus' dog house and will look to regain her trust. Will his sweet talk be able to change Trish's mind once again? It also seems like we will see an end to the team of Los Guerreros. Chavo has been at Eddie's throat for weeks now. Will we see them patch up their differences, or will a new Grudge Match evolve? With so many questions, we can only wait to see what the WWE plans to do this new year. With WrestleMania XX coming, it should be a year to remember. |
