No time for the old in out, love, Ive just come to read the meter. He quoted whipping each inner thigh then pressing his arms with full body weight onto the spikes that rested within Scarletts wrists.
She screamed in horror and began to sob uncontrollably. She loved pain, but this was getting to be too much.
Please, stop this, she cried in utter desperation. As soon as the words passed her lips she regretted them and choked herself with a breath of air.
Stop, are you sure thats what you want? He walked slowly around the tree giving her little inconsistent whips here and there. He was soaking up all the power.
He twirled the metal pin wheel in his hands and a metallic whirling sound was produced. This perked Scarletts ears. She knew that sound. It was her favorite. Now she was struck with fear that she wouldnt get that which she enjoyed so much. She turned her head in the direction of the noise. The ghoul grinned in excitement.
Ah hah, naughty, naughty, naughty, you filthy old soomka, he quoted running the sharp spokes of the pinwheel into her deepest wounds.
Scarlett writhed on the tree but tried hard to stifle it so as not to irritate her wounds and cut her flesh more on the sharp bark. Youre horrible, she cried.
I may be bad, but I feel good, he adduced grabbing her by the throat. With this, he got so close to her ear that she could feel his warm breath and soft lips caressing her lobe, would you like me to pluck out the pain?
She melted under his sweetness and a shiver ran down her spine as she nodded. These words sounded like heaven to her. Finally, she thought, he would stop torturing her and give her soft, tender love that she need not fear. She was jolted by a shock of excruciating pain from her feet. She could feel every inch of the metal sliding out of her body and the warm blood gushing out more as the intrusion left the wounds. He held her lower body up gently with his arm and upper body so that the two metal spikes still left in her wrists wouldnt rip straight through from the sudden force of gravity. As he pulled out the remaining spikes, her arms went limp at her sides, paralyzed with pain. She hadnt the strength to even hold her head up. He carried her limp, bloodied body to a patch of soft moss and laid her down. He caressed her face and removed the blindfold, revealing his face to her. Scarletts heart skipped a beat. He was more prefect than she had ever imagined. She wanted to touch his face and hold his image within her eyes forever but her arms were too weak to move and she knew it wouldnt last forever. They stared intently into one anothers eyes and for the first time ever, Scarlett felt his spirit imbued within his whole face, not just his eyes. He leaned in to kiss her and Scarlett took a deep breath trying hard not to choke under pressure. She felt nothing touch her lips, and she waited awhile thinking that perhaps he was delaying the moment to tease her some more. But when she felt a cold breeze kiss her lips instead she opened her eyes for find that the ghoul was gone and she was back by the lake!
Oh no, it was just another fucking day dream! She looked down at her body to find herself fully clothed and the wounds from crucifixion gone. How can this be? I felt the pain so immensely! It was real I know it! She lifted her shirt and found herself red with welt marks and blood from torn flesh. Now she was confused. How could it be that she was whipped but not crucified? The two happened in congruence. Scarlett let out a scream of frustration and pulled her hair.
This is fucking impossible. How can this be? Why is this happening to me, she exclaimed stomping her feet and turning around in circles confused and crying. Then it finally happened. Her obsession had pushed her over board. She couldnt stand to live like this any longer. She needed to find the ghoul, and get some closure. She gathered herself and jogged back to her beat up car determined to fuck some shit up.
The next couple of weeks were a blurred montage of events. She revisited all the old places where she had remembered seeing him, the old clubs they used to attend, even abandoned factories where they would have wild sex and talk about philosophy. It was all to no end. She found not a trace of the ghoul. She would go home late into the night and early in the morning hours and drink herself into a hole from stressing hard about finding this phantom. One night, in her filthy, bottle festooned apartment she was going through boxes of old papers she had saved like a desperate pack rat when she found an old flyer:
  GOREGASM live @ The Roxy March 5 2000 doors open @ 10.
It was a flyer for a gig of his old band. Shit! She had found an old link. She just so happened to still have the number of the drummer written on the back of that flyer. She got up and paced the floor frantically holding her hand on her head in thought. She wanted to find him of course, how could she resist that urge, but now that there was the possibility of actually seeing him her heart raced and knees buckled. She ran for the phone, concluding that it was the only way to get him out of her brain forever. She dialed the number, hesitating at each digit. The phone rang and a deep groggy voice answered, What?
Hello is this David, she stuttered and her voice cracked.
Yeah, who is this, said the voice, yawning.

Hey its Scarlett, remember me, she said twirling her jet black hair around her fingers.
Oh, yeah, whats up? Where have you been? You know its 3 in the morning right, he said changing his tone to more of a friendly one as recognition of his caller. The sound of a lighter being struck could be heard in the background accompanied then by the sound of a crackling cigarette and a deep drag.
Yeah, Im sorry to call so late. I just now found your number and I needed some information right away. Ive been losing my mind over here. I know its been a while since Ive seen you guys, Ive bee terribly preoccupied. Do you happen to know where Mykel is? she said feeling weird calling him by his birth name, the ghoul always fit him better.
Oh, is that what you called for, to find the ghoul, he chuckled to himself, yeah, I know where that sick bastard is. Why dont you already know, is he hiding from you or something, he said starting to sound like he was talking to just another groupie.
I dont know what hes trying to do. All I know is the last time I talked to him he just grinned at me and walked away. So are you going to tell me where he is or what, she cried, sounding quite flustered now.
David laughed to himself and took another drag of his cigarette, Hes been living over at Lisas off of Hollywood and Sycamore, you know the place right? Do you want his number too?
Scarlett got goose bumps on the back of her thighs. She paused for a moment then continued on, Yeah I know the place. Are they back together or what? Yeah, give me the number so I can call before I drop by.
Alright the numbers is, wait, are you ready?
