She wasnt pleased that he was going easy on her. His eyes smiled back at her like they were holding a secret little inside joke only for him. Blood began to fly from her mouth onto his face and he moved in closer. The intimacy of the situation was so great; had there not been spreader bars and a drill in her mouth they would have been close enough to kiss. But then, a pain started to creep, a pain that can only be described as electric. Scarletts eyes opened wide in shock and a low chuckle could be heard from beneath his mask. The pain was escalading and becoming so great that her jaw began to quiver under the pain. She let out a loud moan of pain and he continued to drill laughing slightly louder now. She began to pant in a panic. Her eyes rolled around frantically in her skull seeking something, anything that could get her out of this situation. But there was nothing to help her for she was under his complete control. He drilled mercilessly into her nerve and gums through that opened tooth and blood squirted about with more consistency. The pain was unbearable. It was so great it gave her a headache. Her eyes began to tear and she now stared at him sorry for ever doubting his ability to torture her past her pain threshold. That sadistic look began to show through his eyes and it appeared he wouldnt stop penetrating her with his drill until he had drill straight through her jaw bone structure. She began to scream and he drowned out her scream with his laughter. By this time blood was everywhere. Her face was covered in it and the ghouls once white face mask was now bloody red. Suddenly she was tapped on the shoulder. GASP!  It was back into reality again.
God, damn it! she exclaimed grabbing her pen and driving it through her hand with great force.
The customer that had disturbed her jumped back in surprise and fear. He stared down at her bloody impaled hand horrified that he had caused such a reaction.
I was only wondering where the restrooms are located, miss. Im sorry, he said quivering and slowly backing away.
Thats okay. Thats okay because you know what? I quit! I quit this stupid worthless job. FUCK THIS PLACE! she yelled at the top of her lungs.
And with that, she grabbed her notebook and time slot card and walked out of the establishment dripping blood. She rushed towards her car shocked at what she had just done. What the hell was she supposed to do now? How was she going to pay rent at that apartment now? With that one worthless sentence she just turned her whole life upside down. She got into her car and turned it on, driving down the road mechanically and not thinking at all about what she was doing; she was so out of it. She merged onto the freeway. The cars were speeding by at a pace that matched her thoughts. Though her hand was still bleeding, she could feel no pain. Finally the gravity of her situation started to settle in and she burst into tears. All these emotions were swirling inside of her head; first came the sadness, the regret, and finally rage. She was so infuriated that she likes this horrible malfeasance so much so as to quit her job because she was so distracted. How could someone have so much power over her yet not be in her presence? The tears filled her eyes and blurred the sight of the road so she pulled over and just let it all out.
God damn it! Damn it, damn it, damn it! I hate that stupid ghoul! Hes the worst possible thing that couldve ever happened to me, she cried, slamming her hands down on the steering wheel in frustration. She wiped the tears from her pale freckled face.
She just wanted to sink into the ground and rot. All that she had ever found to be true and likeable about herself was contradicted by her reactions to this abomination. He brought out all that was weak and pathetic about her. Oddly enough, this is what drew her in closer. It was an emotionally masochistic thing to feel and Scarlett knew this but didnt care. She wanted to cry out because she felt useless. She wanted it to hurt more than anything. She just didnt want to lose everything that she held dear, for an unobtainable phantom.
Alright, Scarlett, pull it together, she said finally starting the engine of her car again. She fought hard to suppress more images as she drove down the road. She knew she needed a distraction from all the excitement and so she headed to a place of solitude, the forest.

There she sat by the calm, deep blue lake. It was silent in every direction except for the gentle rustling of the redwoods leaves. Out here, she felt tiny and insignificant but not in a way that felt ominous. The trees towered over her like massive silent, deities. She looked around her, taking in all the nature and took a deep breath for relaxation. Out of the corner of her eye she thought she saw something move so she snapped her head around quickly to focus on it. Nothing was there. She began to draw circles in the soft dirt around the lake with a slender twig. Its the kind of mindless activities one does just to distract their body while they clear their mind. There was a rustling in the bush behind her. Nervously, she snapped around to examine the noise. By this time, she thought she was beginning to become delusional. She stood up to look around more effectively. Still, there was nothing to be seen. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up high. Cautiously, she turned around to sit back down but suddenly she was jerked away from behind with hands being held over her mouth. She kicked and screamed trying furiously to get away. But nothing helped, he was too strong.
He dragged her to a nearby tree and slammed her hard up against it, pressing his body forcefully against hers. He grabbed hold of her neck and began to strangle her. Scarlett couldnt believe what was happening. How could this be that he is right here in front of me? The oxygen flow to her brain was fading fast and things seemed to be getting blurry. She could feel herself slipping away. Then things went black.
