A little note: Both Jody and Shuichi Akai have placed bugs in either Agasa's house or Conan's phone...and they've learned that Conan=Shinichi & Ai=Sherry...

Shonen Sunday 17

- Kogoro gets an invitation for a costumme party (like Halloween party ) from "Vermouth" (Jody). It says guests need to wear BLACK clothes and disguise themselves.

- Ran calls Hakase and tells him that shhe's wondering if there's a similar kind of invitation for Shinichi too...and yes there IS!! Ran asks Hakase not to tell Conan about the invitation. She seems very worried about Conan AFTER seeing his pic at Jody's place (SS#15).

- Conan is reading that invitation w/ Haaibara. Haibara seems to know Vermouth and tells Conan NOT to go. Conan says he HAS to since that invitation lettter was addressed to Shinichi, but it says "Dear EDOGAWA CONAN." They know who HE IS now, Conan says.... And of course Jody is listening to this conversation.

- Conan seems to know that someone has bbeen tapping Hakase's house. He suspects that someone has been watching them from HIS house (next door ne). He goes there to find out and...someone is there with a gun (must be Jody).

- Gin and Vodka in a car. They're talkinng about that party. Gin says that he's sick of Vermouth hiding lots of secrets from him. They're given an order to find out what she is up to. Gin says "I don't care if she's HIS favorite." (dont' know who yet. Must be a boss (James Black?).

-Kogoro and Sonoko at the party entrancee. Ran is not going. All guests are asked to write out their names on a list. At the very end, a guy dressed in bandages (like an invisible man) writes "Kudou Shinichi" on the guest list....then END.

Shonen Sunday 18

-Haibara wakes up. Sound of Conan and Aggase talking from a next room (odd considering Conan was last seen in his house going thru a door where someone with a gun was waiting). She checks her desk and realizes that Conan has searched around for something to fight against the Black Organization alone.

-Party guests on the ship: Party's promooter, a ghost captain, tells the guests that they need to form groups: Each guest is given a tarot card and they are told to make a group with people who have a same number.

-Lady dressed as Medusa (Kogoro talks wiith her at in SS17) tells Kogoro and Sonoko that another reason for this party is for an audition for a monster movie. There are a few movie crews watching/checking people.

-Crew members talk about Kudo Shinichi bbeing on this ship. A zombie guy overhears their conversation. This zombie guy wears a monocle a la Kid.

-Korogo & Sonoko end up in a same group.. Others are "Shinichi" (dressed as Invisible Man), Medusa, Frankenstein, other bandaged man with a bowtie and Wolfman.

-Phone ringing in the Agasa's house. Haiibara picks up. It's Arai-sensei. He asks for Hakase, but he isn't home Ai says. (Hakase and Conan's conversation was from a tape). Anyway, Arai tells her that he's concerned about her cold and asks her if it's ok to go and pick her up right now to take her to a hospital.

-Back on the ship: Some kinda game is abbout to start...etc.. Anyway, guests find the ghost captain hooked on a sail. He's dead.

-Last page at the Agasa's house. Door beell rings. Haibara answers...opens the door... close up of her face, she looks frightened.

End.

Shonen Sunday 19

-Haibara answers the door. It's JODY!!!!! She tells Haibara that Dr. Arai's car has broken down so she came to pick her up instead. Haibara goes with her.... Meanwhile, Arai arrives, sees them, instantly confused as to what's going on....

-At the ship: Kogoro checks the dead boddy, asks questions... attempts an investigation... comes to conclusion that the captain was killed by someone in his group (so one of 7 people ne). This is because their tarot card # XV was left w/ the captain, and only those 7 had this card.

-Kogoro calls Ran to tell her he's gonnaa be late tonight. She isn't home!!!

-Invisible man (one who wrote Shinichis'' name) is searching/investigating something (well just like Conan usually does).

-Haibara and Jody in a car. Jody's stilll Jody (not Vermouth mode)...telling Haibara that she's gonna be alright since Dr. Arai is very good. Haibara sees Arai in a car from a side mirror. Arai is following Jody's car.

-Kogoro asks his group people to show thheir tarot cards. Bandage guy with a bow-tie doesn't have it. He says he's lost it. Of course, Kogoro points out that he's the murderer!! This bandage guy turns out to be one of the movie staff....

-Invisible man walking into the men's rooom searching for clues.

-The bandage guy says he didn't kill himm.... He's explaining where he was etc... He says someone has broken all the mirrors in the men's room.

-Invisible man on deck of the ship now. He finds a chicken (live one) Seems like he has solved this murder case already.

-Kogoro is still saying that the bandge guy is the killer...

-Then there's an announcement saying "thhat's totally wrong, Detective Mouri." Kogoro and others go outside and see the invisible man. Kogoro says "That voice, the way of speaking....you are.." (Shinichi !!??).

Text: It says HE will be back in color next issue. So could be Shinichi!! (which also seems to be the case in the 7th movie... Shinichi's return (for how long??) ....

Onto Issue 20...

Page 1: (Colour) Shinichi revealed himself ***Posting file right after this post. Would you believe this NOTHING compared to the end?!

Page 2: Vodka sees Shinichi alive ***Posting page. Huge "unh-oh" ne? And where is Gin... and unless Vodka dies before telling Gin...

Next: Jody and Ai in the car: Haibara asks Jody for a favour... what that is is not revealed in SS20.

Cut back to: Shinichi solves the murder case (about 5 pages): The killer was the Wolf Man (one of the 7 in Mori/Shinichi's group). He says, "It was the Devil's fault...the Devil named Vermouth."

Back to: Jody stops her car suddenly and Ariade sensei follows suit (he'd been tailing them in his car since left Agasa's house). Jody starts talking with Araide:

Jody: Whats going on, Dr. Araide?

Araide: That's my question. What are you going to do to that child (Haibara)?

J: No, No! I was just going for a drive. I have lots of spare time unlike you.

A: Spare time?

J: Dr. Araide, the trial date for the murder case is very close. You have to testify the truth! That... truth was that Hikaru the maid pulled the trigger and killed your father.

A: Hikaru-san pulled the trigger?

J: Don't talk like you don't know. I heard the real truth from Mori.

A: What are you talking about? That murder was done by my mother-in- law... Besides, he was killed by an electric shock, not by a gun.

J: HA-HA-HAAAAA

Back to: Shinichi wrapping up the case (about 4 pages)

And last 3 pages: Back to Jody & Araide three pages of Jody vs Araideb (Last 2 pages posting in file section) (these are from Hiro. btw. My bookstore won't have SS20 until tomorrow or delayed until next week because of Easter).

Continuation from Jody laughing (3rd to last page):

A: What is it?

J: Oh, sorry. About the trigger... I meant to be pulling the circuit breaker.... Jody continues to explain him that Hikaru pulled the trigger w/out knowing anything. In order not to hurt Hikaru's feeling, the police officers, Kogoro etc.. made a false record: that the murder was done by different way.

J: Well, of course you don't know this. The records YOU stole from the police dpt. didn't have this info... The records that you stole to continue the act of being Dr. Araide.... Am I wrong?

A: Who are you?

Go see last 2 pages... Now, I'd be willing to bet 99% of fans believe Jody is Vermouth (Chris Vineyard) ne? Ah, well... NO!!!!!!

Jody is Jody as far as we know now. Defnitely not a simple English teacher and definitely knows who Haibara & Conan really are. FBI maybe... working with Akai? Possibly. Half-sister (Jody is 28, Vermouth is 29 (manga 24)) of Vermouth perchance? They sure could pass as twins. Sharon Vineyard as their mother.

Jody says her father was killed by Vermouth, who is disguised as Araide sensei!! (Peels back disguise on the last page) AND has been ever since the first time seen the real Araide sensei: manga 24, where his father was killed, Ran borrowing his sweater to knit one for Shinichi. The case right after this one was where first see Vermouth/Chris Vineyard, one where Haibara reverts to Sherry.... Think about it. It wasn't Araide being the drama coach for the school play nor on the bus hyjacking case (enter Akai) nor during Satou's wedding interview with Shiratori when Conan "borrowed" Araide to trick Satou into thinking Takagi was there behind the screen (and who did Ran see? Akai... ). And both Jody and Araide were at Agasa's house so it was really Vermouth who planted the listening device, not Jody (well maybe she did too ^^).

Real Araide sensei (I can't find this and Hiro can't remember where this was from) : So real Arai should be in Aomori (northern Japan) now. He was going there to open a new clinic after his father got killed. Araide said his family (grandma + Hikaru) moved to Aomori already, but he had to stay in Beika City to testify for that murder case.

Everyone made it back to their keyboards from the floor yet?

I went back thru the manga 23-40 since Hiro had read on Kurage Conan page BBS (all Japanese) that Vermouth had been Araide, not Jody on Tuesday night.... Going, no way, someone posting BS. Jody is Vermouth... If Gosho hasn't done the last page with Jody in the frame with Vermouth I'd still wouldn't believe it. ^^ I still have a beef though that Gosho had better explain (and not 7 years form now): Manga 34: The X case. Jody brought up the meaning of X in her class which lead to the murder at the mall... yet it was Vermouth who e-mailed Gin going on about what X can mean... and end with throwing dart at Sherry's picture with Cool Guy (Conan) & Angel (Ran) pics. So unless Vermouth was pretending to be Jody during all that... BUT still have a problem. Next case is Heiji& Conan vs Jody ... it's Jody who has the exact same pictures of Conan & Ran including the nicknames written on the pics with lipstick. Both of them, same pics, same names written in lipstick? Didn't bother me before since thought Jody was Vermouth. Now that bit seems a rather glaring discrepancy... isn't it??

Needless to say Vermouth isn't hosting that party on the ship and the party would seem to be a red herring both for Shinchi and Gin&Vodka while she goes after Haibara... .

Oh well... much more important questions like to have answers for: Who sent heart shaped OK e-mail to Conan? Who did Conan encounter at the Kudo residence? Where's Agasa? Where's Ran? And why on earth did Shinchi return as himself on the ship?! He knows that Vermouth knows he's Conan (that invitation in SS17) so why take the risk of exposure & risk to his health. Hai, more impatient waiting ahead pulls us along this merry, ever complicated, ride (Boring? Nothing happening? Lady Orla, post this to that other Conan group would you? ^^; )

Shonen Sunday 21

- Vermouth vs Jodie (first 3 pages) ***PPosting files Most of it in grammatically mangled English : key point: Jody is an FBI agent, Jody Starling is her name. She's been after Vermouth for a long time...

- Wolfman confessing to why he killed thhe captain...

- Back to V vs J : Jody not surprised Veermouth knew who she really was. Jody had arranged things to make it look like Araide sensei & his family had been killed (while taking them to a safe place to live) so Vermouth WOULD assume Araide's identity thereby making it easy to figure out where Vermouth was... so much so that Jody found Vermouth's place, snuck in and discovered her photo collection, especially the dart tossed Sherry picture. Jody made copies of the other pictures (Conan (CoolGuy) & Ran (Angel)).

- Jody asks Vermouth what's so special aabout CoolGuy & Angel ... why bother saving Conan during the bus hyjacking case... Jody wants answers and well, Vermouth is more interested in listening in to events on the ship through a bug where can hear (and cut back tothe ship):

- Praise all round to Shinichi for solviing the case. He makes remark that he was able to figure it out since he used the same trick as the killer: swapped places with another by changing the disguise...

Back to V vs J (7 pages) with bits of Ship scenes intermixed though

Jody shoots Vermouth's gun out of her hand, tells her to "freeze" and asks, "Why don't you age?!"

Jody started keeping her eyes on Chris Vineyard since she saw her at Sharon's funeral. But her dad was killed 20 years go so Chris would be too young to be that woman who killed her dad... UNTIL Jody checked the fingerprint of Chris and one that was left on Jody's dad's glasses 20 years ago (page 2). The prints matched!!! Thus Jody realized that Chris Vineyard and Sharon Vineyard is a SAME PERSON!!! (So yes, folks, not just grand plans to make drug that slows aging, Black Org has achieved it!!!)

Jody calls in her backup men to help apprehend Vermouth but no one answers because Vermouth a couple hours earlier disguised as Jody told her men it wouldn't go down until tomorrow... and Jody gets shot by Calvados (sp, another alcohol named Black Org member that Vermouth called in once she'd figured out Haibara = Sherry).

Vermouth admits to stealing Kogoro's case files to check on the truth (but it wasn't) of the Araide case and to help her figure out what JODY been up to AND knew Jody been to her place so hoped Jody would lead Vermouth to where Sherry was ... which Jody did ... Vermouth has question for Jody, how she knew real events of Araide case from Kogoro... Jody replies she didn't but from someone who told her to say what she did in order to expose Araide as real or fake (SS20)....

Back to Shinichi who's about to reveal that he's... :>

Back to Vermouth: She's about to kill Jody saying, "Smile! You can meet your daddy in heaven..." Then, "booooom!!" Soccer ball smashes car window and hits Vermouth's gun. Haibara comes out of the car. Vermouth says,"You....no way...." Haibara starts peeling her mask...and says "Yup, Edogawa Conan, Tantei daaa!!!" So it was Conan ne.

WHICH means, Shinichi on the ship is... mask taken off... Heiji! (see scan posted to file section) ALSO find out Medusa guest is Yukiko who did all the make-up for Heiji & Conan... . Heiji had microphone to communicate with Conan who "helped" solve the case AND another microphone set up so Conan could talk as Shinichi (so no Heiji trying to immitate Shinichi (again ^^)).

Back to Conan & V & J : Conan aims stun watch at Vermouth telling her to get into he car along with Jody (and then head to the police) ... it's working until Haibara shows up (SS18 (19?) when Haibara was looking for something, it was Conan's spare set of glasses which she used to track Conan)) .... Very last shot is Vermouth with grin on her face.

Next week is a double issue 22/23 so the following week there won't be an issue (by then be Golden Week in Japan).

Shonen Sunday 22/23

Page 1: Gin in a car talking to Vodka. Vodka tells him about Kudo Shinichi's reappearance. But Gin doesn't remember him. He says he tries to forget about names and faces of those he's killed.

Gin asks Vodka if that dead guy (Shinichi) showed up as a ghost orsomething. Vodka explains his second unveiling as Heiji and not being Shinichi so something weird going on here...

Cut to Heji on the ship: Kogoro asks him why was disguised as Shinichi.Heiji tells him that he was lonely ^_^ Since Kudo hasn't been around for a long time, Heiji thought if impersonated Shinichiand started working on an investigation, Shinichi would show up for real. Or it's possible that rumor that he's dead is true, Heiji adds. (All this BS for sake of Kogoro & other ears that might be listening in).

Page 2: Kogoro tells Heiji that this is the second time.... If Ran were here, she'd clobber you but good. Heji starts talking to himself (thoughts only), "It couldn't be helped since Shinichi had asked him to do this since "they" (Black Org) are up to something. Heiji continues talking to himself. He was surprised to see Shinichi's mom at Kudo's house. (image of Yukiko shooting Conan with a water gun. So that was her in the house (SS17) (And also first meeting of Heiji & Yukiko)).

Yukiko was worried about Shin-chan so she's been hiding there. (Then where is Yusaku ne?) Yukiko helped Heiji turn into Shinichi.

Heiji surprised at her Lupin like abilities. Heiji also concerned about Haibara who was put to sleep by Conan (SS17) and locked into thebasement (Agasa's place). Conan was looking for the spare glasses so that she wouldn't go looking for him....

Page 3: Haibara arrives at where Conan, Jody and Vermouth are. She looks puzzled. Conan turns to her, telling her to run away and winds up getting stunned with his own watch by Vermouth (Conan had watched primed towards Vermouth).

Page 4: Vermouth tells Conan, "Good night," and says, "Welcome" to Sherry... adding a pointed gun to the greeting to Haibara.

Back to the ship: Yukiko thinking over what Shin-chan had said: reason that Vermouth tried to get Conan out of this is because Vermouth is Sharon Vineyard and didn't want him involved in this matter (boy, a wee bit late for that!!). Sharon knew Shinichi as a child so figuring out Conan = Shinichi was easy. Yukiko wondering if her son is correct or not.... (But that would mean Vermouth has a conscience, ain't all bad afterall... hmmm ... just another layer of disguise?)

Page 5: Back to Vermouth and Haibara. Vermouth tells Haibara howstupid she is to come here to die by messing up his plan. Haibara replies that she came here to end everything. As long as she's alive someone will always be out to capture/kill her. Haibara begs her not to kill anybody around her. Vermouth says "Ok, but not this FBI lady (Jody)."

Jody's about to shoot Haibara...(!) Curse Haibara's parents who started the silly/foolish experiment (eternal youth drug and not Haibara's botched aptxy )

Page 6: Surprise #1: Jody's car trunk opens and Ran comes out! Ran rushes to where Haibara is to protect her while Jody's thinking that Ran might have seen the pics in her bathroom. Calvados starts shooting. Vermouth yells, "STOP!"

Page 7: Ran dives for the ground taking Haibara with her, protecting her. Vermouth shoots back at Calvados, "I told you to wait, didn't I?" She tells Ran to get away from Haibara, if she doesn't want to die soon that is. Ran isn't listening, she's telling Haibara not to move (away from Ran). Vermouth repeats to Ran to get away fast (now). Again Ran is ignoring her, telling Haibara (& Vermouth) that she called police so everything will be alright shortly, just wait a little longer. Ran (her actions) reminds Haibara of her sister.

Page 8: Vermouth shouts, "Move it, ANGEL!!!" Vermouth suddenly in shock. Jody just shot her in the shoulder. Jody commands Vermouth to tell Calvados to drop the rifle or next shot will be to her head. Reply is sound of cocking of a shotgun.. from BEHIND Jody...Vermouth says, "Ok, Calvados, shoot her from both sides." Jody against a wall can now hear footprints approaching... Vermouth add, " Well, why don't you use your partner, that Remington (gun), and dispose of that FBI kitty. " Tables are turned, Vermouth still in control, but wait it isn't Calvados, it's ...

Page 9: ... Akai!!!!

Akai asks Vermouth that guy's name is Calvados? Akai thought he was a gun dealer or something. "Akai Shuuichi," Vermouth says. Akai continues, "but he won't be able to deal guns anymore since I just broke both of his legs." Jody says "Shuu!!!" (Ahaa, so they are working together!)

Akai goes on, "Calvados means apple liquor... so it indeed goes very well with a 'rotten apple'." "Rotten apple?" Vermouth asks. He says he named her "rotten apple" as a target name. Sharon Vineyard got her first touch of fame by doing the play, Golden Apple (See NY story). Akai states, "You still look beautiful, but inside, you're a wrinkled, rotten apple!" Vermouth tries to shoot....

Page 10: Akai nails Vermoth instead. Vermouth falls to the ground. Jody asks Akai not to kill her. Akai tells Jody not to worry since Vermouth's wearing a bulletproof jacket....yet two or three of her ribs must be broken. He also says Jody should look at her face which got cut by the bullet....that's her real face without being disguised.

Vermouth moves toward Conan (still in la-la land), grabs him and takes off in Jody's car. Akai takes aim but it's Ran & Haibara who are in his sights, "Shit, those kids are in the way..."

Page 11: Vermouth shoots her own car while she driving away, causing it to explode. Akai praises her while Jody's disgusted. Akai tells Jody that she should have taken the key out of her car. Ran & Haibara passed out from the shoc of the gunfire. Jody comments on whether they are really brave or not.

Calvados shoots himself and dies.

Police sirens are getting closer. Akai says Japanese policemen are approaching. Jody says Ran must have called them... and that Ran must have seen those pics at her house... Leading Ran to investigate Jody and how she wound up in the trunk of Jody's car. Jody is sure (ah, but should WE believe this) that Ran didn't hear any of their conversations, only that when Ran heard the gun shots, she called the cops and tried to help Haibara. (So Ran still clueless or not...Gosho-sama could work it either way).

Ran and Haibara are still passed out on the ground.

Page 12: Akai is leaving. He tells Jody to concoct some story for the police about being off duty (FBI) traveling around Japan and wound up getting involved with this child kidnapping case.... since no one will believe the real story about Vermouth & company.

ALSO Akai says, "Besides, I can't meet that brown haired girl (Haibara implied) yet."

Vermouth in the car in some wooded area. She receives an e-mail from the boss. It says, "I must have let you do things too freely. Please come back to my place now." Vermouths replies, "OK" to the boss.

Vermouth looks at sleeping Conan and wonders what she should do with him. Then she notices something odd, pulls out a knife and points it towards Conan.

Page 13: Vermouth cuts through Conan's jacket & shirt. There's something attached to his upper torso that looks like heart monitor electrodes which connect to a telemeter and recording device able to pick up telephone transmissions. Vermouth tries to stop it, however, a now alert Conan tells her that if she pulls that cord, the recording of his heart will stop which will trigger his trap and somehow lead to him knowing her boss' email address.

Page 14: Conan continues... "There's a duty of confidentiality between a phone company and a contractor, but police should be able to get that info. If they clear all the necessary hurdles (proper authorization/warrant obtained...)

More explanation via Conan, "By recording the sounds and analyzing alphabets & numbers, your boss' name and the place he lives will be known whether I'm dead or not." By getting himself captured as Haibara, Conan logically figured the boss would be contacted. Of course all good plans get shot to hell with unplanned variables... Jody & Haibara showing up (wait 'til he finds out about Ran & Akai's "interference" too ^^).

Conan tells Vermouth that his friend is waiting to receive the recording. Friend being Agasa in a car who's been listening to theirconversation... Conan's proposition to Vermouth, "If you don't want this sent, take me to your boss... Let's end this, Vermouth... I want to stop all this hide & seek now! "

Page 15: Vermouth's response, "Ok, I lose... I'll give up on Sherry."

Conan, "eh?"

Smoke comes out of her cellphone. "It's just sleeping gas," she says.

Conan: "If you do this, you'll be gassed too...."

Vermouth: "That's the gamble... If you wake up first, make the call to the police and catch me and then the boss (using the information). "

Then she asks, "Do you know what will happen if I wake first?"

Meanwhile, Agasa hearing all this is worried. He has to help Shinichi quick.

Page 16: Agasa still listening in... Hears "Ppan," sound. Hakase says, "eh?" Then scene moves to Gin and Vodka in a car. Gin on the phone with Vermouth who is in a phonebooth.

Gin: You got beat up by Akai Shuichi?

Vermouth: Yes, he found me by accident. He got three of my abs.

G: Ohh, he's that FBI guy whom you couldn't kill even though you disguised yourself as a serial killer (manga 35, NY story!!!).

V: I thought he would become careless if I became a normal serial killer... I should have killed him at when I was like that... (??)

V: "He's the man that the boss fears could be the silver bullet. "

G: "Heh, there's no silver bullet that can destroy us in one shot."

V: "Anyway, I'm at a phonebooth so could you come and pick me up? I can't move since I've been injured."

G: "There's something I want to ask you. "

Page 17: G: "Do you know a brat named Kudo Shinichi?"

V: "Let's see... I know no one called that."

Cut to: Agasa finds Jody's car and Conan inside. Conan's just waking up. Vermouth's thoughts are overlayed over the panels, "Yes, him... his shot through my chest (literal or figurative is the question, depending on which she could mean Akai or Shinichi) ... " Conan notices Vermouth is gone. " ... perhaps it could be... " Conan shocked to find the recording gone (somehow Vermouth was able to remove it without setting off his trap). " ... what I've been hoping (waiting) for for a long time ... "

Last frame: A very disgruntled and miserable tantei-san with end of Vermouth's thought: " ... that silver bullet... . "

Now folks, NO Shonen Sunday next week ... it's Golden Week in Japan.
