Kudo Shinichi (17)

Shinichi’s Story
Solving many cases of murder or mystery, Kudo Shinichi was a high school detective who was often referred to as “The savior of Japanese Police Force”. Once, Shinichi was spying on 2 suspicious men dressed in black and was knocked down. The men forced him to drink an unknown drug, which was still in experimental-stage. Fortunately, the drug that was supposed to kill him made him turn back to a little kid again. To hide his true identity (or the 2 men dressed in black would surely come after him again), Shinichi changed his name to Edogawa Conan and stayed at his childhood friend Ran’s house (which was also her dad’s detective office), and waited for his chance to capture those 2 men in black and turn back to his true self...

About Shinichi
He loves to play soccer and is fantastic at it. In fact, according to Ran (who may be prejudiced with her comments), he could be a great soccer star in Japan had he stayed on the team. However, Shinichi plays soccer because in order to be a detective, he has to be fit.
Shinichi is tone-deaf and is often mocked by his music teachers.

Friends & Family
Shinichi has a childhood friend (who is also his best friend and secret crush), Mouri Ran.They share a very deep love, but both are too shy to admit it to each other. After he changes into Edogawa Conan, he has to use a voice-changer (see Conan) to talk to Ran on the phone occasionally. His excuse for “disappearing”? He has to solve a very difficult case. Although he may tease and mock her, he really does love her very much and it hurts him to see her cry and worry about him.
Shinichi is also very good friends with Agasa-hakase (in English, Dr. Agasa), who is his next-door neighbor and helped him a lot after he turned back into Conan. Also, he is friends with Hattori Heiji, a high-school detective from Osaka. Both Agasa-hakase and Heiji know Edogawa Conan’s real identity. His parents are Kudo Yusaku (father) and Kudo Yukiko (mother). They live in America. They know that Shinichi turned back into a child, but they could not persuade him to go back to America with them, where it was “safer”, because Conan had “a reason that he couldn’t leave Japan” (Ran). They care about him a great deal, even though they like to play jokes on him.
